For anyone who grew up with a Marx Fighting Knights Carry All Castle, you can find reasonable reproductions of the Knights and Vikings, in both painted and unpainted modes, in the Finished Figures section, Medieval Directory. More stuff coming over the next few days/weeks.
I have fixed Blacklace on my end. I would appreciate it if someone could verify it works on their end. I've added the Malicious Code detector as a transparent object, just in case this virus foolishness returns. :)

Hoping the python script won't be a problem. I should have python still installed from my old Freedom Force modding days. I think...
I'm planning to give it a shot, just need to find an hour of uninterrupted time so I can concentrate and make sure I do it right. :) Will DM you if I get stuck and/or post here if I think it's fixed but need y'all to tell me if it functions on your end.
Khaaarl, thanks for the python code. I'll check it out as well, was just hoping the cube was a quick fix
Couple of other notes: 1) the search function isn't great as it only goes so many levels deep; I recommend bundling or 2) you can always use the back up bags at the tops. They're just simple nested begs - a pain compared to navigating the directory but better than trying to search a 2000 item bag,
No plans to update in the near future as my HF subscription expires in November and I don't plan to renew. The mod is also growing a bit big - took a long time to get the latest couple of hundred figures sorted and to re-do SpectrumW's tools with the new content. So I think this will be it for 2024, if not beyond. :)
FYI, I'm mainly known for the western and pulp figures. Search for "Boot Hill" or "Pulp Alley" or see my workshop if either genre interests you. :)
I've never seen your work, and there's so much content here!
I'll be going from lots of time and no money to lots of money and no time, but it should mean new content by early 2024, maybe sooner, depending on how the move goes. In the meantime, I might try to get a few of the recent releases from other workshop mods put through the Blacklace blender, if time permits.
New (approximate) BLACKLACE counts: Base Figures 700, Accessories 1300, Finished Figures 2100.
If anyone sees anything else broken or has small projects with existing figures, let me know. I have a little too much time on my hands some days as there's only so many exec HR jobs to apply for. :)
There is free software that will rip the asset bundles into individual components. You can then alter meshes in blender or textures in photoshop (or Gimp or whatever) and then reassemble them in Unity. It's a painfully multi-step process but once you have all the software installed and understand the process, it actually goes very quickly.
Removing a light source might not be that hard - in theory I would just black out the right part of the emission file and re-export. Adding light is normally beyond my ability as I'm not artist, but I can sometimes do simple things when it's obvious enough how to alter the file. DM / Email me if you want to discuss a particular figure. Be glad to look at it for you this weekend or next week.
Charlie
Blacklace is officially closed until I get a new job, then it's time to go wild with Firefly, Xena, or more random stuff, depending on what I'm in the mood for. :)
I have now spent my final credits (with one exception that glitched that I'm waiting for HF to fix). Should have new content up this weekend, which will then do it for me until I'm re-employed.
BTW: When loading the mod, the following message error is displayed:
Failed to load Model (.obj): http://cloud-3.steamusercontent.com/ugc/1890976794191663216/00D703989A443E981FCF0429432D20958F91BAC7/
Have a nice day!
Example of something someone made that inspired me and will likely make the list:
https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D38317926/
(Ignore the hammer and tamborine, those are just parts to be stripped and added to Blacklace).
This is a gold mine :D
Thanks to a gift card from an anonymous donor for the new items.
There is some original work in the mod but little of it from scratch. Almost all of my efforts started with something from HeroForge, something from ThingiVerse, something from a Unity pack, etc., re-worked (slightly) in Blender and/or Unity. My biggest regret is I lack artistic talent which makes some of the skins for the super-hero meshes look particularly lame, since they lack the custom occlusion/normal/metal textures that come with Hero Forge figures.
- The raptors
- The Simcas
- The Citroens
- The army truck
- The jeep
The raptors originally come from "Prehistoric Animals +"
The Army Truck is from "American Tanks and Vehicles for Wargaming"
Same goes for the jeep.
The Simca and Citroen I didn't publish on my own but gave them to someone for publishing, not sure where that was, but funny to see the long way they took. Or maybe I did and I don't remember where...
Anyways, no need to list all these individual mods, just add a single line like for the others, thanks.
I in fact found a few models in this here mod of yours that I will use elsewhere. So be sure to put an indignant comment down under my mod if I forget to credit you!
*PS if you want some more old car models, I have some in my "City in Summer" / "City in Winter" maps.
Also added the January and February HeroForge prepacks (cross-posted from Mark's mod). Base version of the more interesting figures will be added soon.
To-Do: Replace the Necronomicon system with an updated version of the directory browser to make searching faster.
I've spent $400+ of my money and countless hours. I've spent about $70 more in other people's money, received before Blacklace was even released. MadMark, who provided $50 of that $70 has done his own subscription, I believe, which is another $180. So he and I have spent over $600. Someone else is going to have to step up for there to be any significant additions.
I'm in pro status until May and at some point before then will use up my last 12 credits, but that's all I plan to post, other than their monthly packs, which honestly have been crap lately (and I've never seen include children, to date).
I haven't yet decided if my last figures will be Hercules/Xena, John Carter, or just miscellaneous pulp and fill-ins.
I'm down to 12 credits at HF and not impressed enough with recent releases to renew for a third year. Barring a major release on their part between now and May (when I expire), or funding from the community (hint hint), there likely won't be any major updates like this one for a long while. :)
I'll still try to throw the official monthly packs up from time to time while I'm subscribed.
