Found the reason. It works, but only with the "correct" zombie settings. It is affected not only by the resurrection settings, but by everything in general. If I set all zombie settings to random (leave the resurrection parameter by default), the mod stops working.

@SkyWiseGuy I just tested it, seems fine! It sounds like you tried this already, but make sure your normal resurrection settings are set to default. Not sure what else it could be, but if anyone has more tips please chime in

Mod not working anymore?

Last year mod worked fine, but now zombies do not respawn in single or multiplayer. (no other mods; respawn is enabled in settings; mod is set to 100% respawn)

@Nerdi shoot sorry about that! You called it though, unfortunately the sort of black box coded around reanimation prevents me from copying loot data onto the new/animated zed. I'll add a warning to the description, thanks for the report!

Player zombies who die with loot and reanimate without having their loot taken will have no loot when killed for the second time.

My friend died and was reanimated as a zombie, which I killed since I was fighting off his zombie as well as a horde. By the time he came back to collect the loot, he had reanimated, but the zombie had none of his loot (and it was nowhere to be seen).

I'd imagine there's some sort of limitation preventing a fix, but I thought I would bring it up regardless. Great mod, aside from that! Really adds that extra challenge I was trying to make with my hardmode mod collection!

In single player everything works as it should, however on the server zombies will respawn things. Has anyone encountered this?

yes i pached a version of that mod like yours with a chance like you, and random time also, looks fine, unlikely that code as i have seen cant get crawlers, should trigger the coomand for get a crawler afer revive, and i dont find a easy way at least for now. thanks for the time

Hey @aquelarrefox sorry but I'm not able to add the delay. Unfortunately the Multiplayer code overrides anything I try to do with resurrection apart from the simple functionality we have in this mod. Solo play is much more flexible though, and this mod is able to add a delay for solo only: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2811423904

I have no idea if this would work, but if you run the mods together, maybe you'll get the effect you're looking for!

i use in single cose i love the idea of get masses of crowlers over the place, please could you add the delay to revive in options (60 min or 120 min) thats should be great! thanks for the mod!

@Monaqui I haven't found any conflicts yet but I imagine if you use this with another reanimation mod, there'll be trouble of some sort. Clients don't need to do anything special, aside from the usual (just download the mod when they're prompted to on connecting). And if the host doesn't configure any settings after they add it, it'll still work too (using the default 17% chance)

Yes! If you burn them, bury them, stuff them into a container, drop them in a vehicle, or put them in a bag then they will not reanimate... until you take them out (if they were going to reanimate anyways).

Just a warning though, if you're carrying one when it reanimates, it will IMMEDIATELY get up if you put it on the ground. So make sure you don't drop it!

Hey @Sari-n sorry no, there is something in the code that locks up the reanimation settings. As soon as you change any fakedead state information, the corpse WILL reanimate in 30 minutes. I bashed my head on this for a few days and talked to a few people, but I haven't met anyone yet who knows what the problem is and I haven't cracked it myself.

If that ever changes, I would love to put in something like what you've suggested!

hey question: Is there any chance of a version of this that instead uses rot states?
I want to play with a 100% revival chance, to encourage body burning (zombie respawns turned off), But 30 minutes is just way too short, and as stated cant use resurrecting zeds on MP.

Okay so here's the update: SOLO PLAY ONLY DOES CRAWLERS! So the quickest fix if you want to use these in "solo" is to host your own private server via the "host" button, and set up your sandbox from there.

Finally testing this out on my dedicated server. They're resurrecting as they should and not as crawlers. Strange how that works.

I'm getting the same problem with only crawlers spawning, though I don't think I mind all that much. If you do happen to make an alternate version I'd be happy to help test.

@Yummy Hmm okay, the skeleton thing sounds normal (instead of deleting you can decrease corpse remove time if you like) but that crawler thing is super weird!

I think I'll make a second mod for people who have trouble with this one. In it, I'll put an extra internal function that will hopefully force all reanimations to not be crawlers. The only problem is, since I don't see the problem myself, I won't be able to test the mod. Instead, I'll send it to you and the other people who reported and see if its fixed for anyone. Then if it works, I'll make it public. I probably won't have time for the next few days but when it's done, I'll send it to you (though no worries if you'd rather not test it)!

PS AOM should be fine I think, I've used it with this mod on a server and it worked normally for everyone.

Now I tested with apocalypse settings, dont change reanimation chance and zombie reanime only who have that 17 % chance, other zombies turn into skeletons and I delete aom but still only crawlers are reanimate

I thought only crawlers can spawn cuz I use other mods like zombie fix, but I thought wrong. I tested it without mods, but it can be AOM animation cuz it change your game files animations, I will check my mods to find more mods which changes animations or game files

Yes, I thought the mod was using respawn time, not corpse removal time, so I deliberately increased the corpse removal time to look at resuscitation, haha

Whoops I think I misread you @Yummy. If you set the chance to 0, there should still be a 2% regular reanimation chance for the regular reanimation (this happens much slower and is set by your Remove Corpses sandbox setting). Do you mean this mod seems to be blocking your regular reanimation?

@Yummy thanks for the report. If you see a setting for a reanimation time, you might have an outdated version of the mod: The only option in the current version is the reanimation chance. Try unsubscribing and resubscribing and that should get you the current version.

For the crawlers problem, I think there must be something you and SleepyNotDead have in settings or mods that's causing a conflict. I'm seeing people streaming with the mod without the crawler problem so it seems to be mostly working. Would you mind letting me know which zombie or animation mods you had enabled, if any?

I have played with this mod and I have seen only crawlers too. Another problem is if I set faster zombie reanimating chance to 0, zombie doen`t reanimate, I played SP, 41.78

Hey @SleepyNotDead I tried this out looking from both host and client side, things were working almost as expected from what I could see. I say almost because actually, I only just noticed that I'm not seeing any crawlers at all (unless they do a craw attack when they rez, but they do stand up after).

I had a look at the code to see if I could put in the custom crawl chance for you really quick, but I forgot that I have to set that on the corpse (not the zombie) which the game makes difficult to do. I just have to do some more thinking on how to optimize it so your game doesn't lag every time a large group of zeds dies in close succession (eg. pipe bomb, assault weapons in mp, etc). So no solution just yet I'm afraid.

In the meantime if anyone else sees this problem, please let me know here. I'm hoping this is a mod conflict someplace, but apart from mods like night zombies, sun sensitive zeds, random zombies, etc I have no idea what it could be at the moment.

Tested with and without Zombies with Player Animations on 100% resurrection chance, both tests is just nothing but crawlers.

Actually let me know but in any case, I'm hoping to add the ability to customize the crawler chance at the end of next week (hopefully some other features too) so whether we find your problem before then or not, maybe that update will help

playing on the latest normal build, using a couple of zombie altering mods but nothing i figured would affect this one.

Vaulting Zombies, Susceptible, Zombies With Player Animations, Scent of Blood, Don't Feed the Zombies.

Could be that my RNG is so bad its only given me crawlers so far, but idk its been pretty consistent.

Hmm I haven't seen that sort of crawler lock on my end or anyone I've seen streaming it. Anyone else seeing that problem? @SleepyNotDead can you tell me what version of the game you're playing on and if you have any other zombie-modifying mods running?
