Bryan Birtwell [SR4L] different engines not that papyrus had a good engine. The snow effects in the atmosphere I don't think is too difficult to do for the coders, but the ground effects are a different talk since when you drive over it it needs to go deep and let the marks, the marks we can see in the sand for instance but they are just graphics while for snow they should be deeper and geometry change.
I don't know if people are aware that this engine GMT is about 20 years old with slightly modifications. I've worked with it in GTR/GTR2/GPL this is too old with a washed face. Snow is not an option for the time, as far as I know.

Hiya, sorry for the slow response... That's one of the things I'll never understand... How come, over 20 years ago, Papyrus had snow build up, but now they can't.

Great track! Many thanks! Such a blast to drive especially in period cars from the 1960's! Last time I drove this track was while ago and it seemed there was not much grip on the road surface, seems a little slippery? Maybe been fixed now?

I have nothing against your solution but it comes to prove that the solution from the tutorial is not unique and sometimes it's worst than ambience out of the terrain.

I suspect the way "https://docs.studio-397.com/developers-guide/track-development/lighting-tracks/ambient-probes" describe to position the probe it's a bit weird (2 meters above center of the road, the best place to place a Global Probe, is where we have a representative view of the surrounding) because it will get all objects around and in a track like solitude it will get trees as well, trees are green and representative mostly of the surrounding.
If that is the problem as I already suspected I will try to get a most suitable position for it. The curious thing is that the ambience was getting yellish when I tried to get a position in the finish line, will see what happens.

dumont - I'm not sure how you used the solution of Xzanman and it worksunless you meant to say you used it for Oulton Park because and for Solitude that coordinates are no better than having no probe entry I'm not sure I understand your sentence.

maybe this will work:

Oulton park SCN file is missing ReflectionMapper=STATIC01 and IRRADIANCE_PROBE=IRRAD_GLOBAL, which resulted light greenish & yellowish tint.

It can be fixed by adding following two lines into SCN (of each layout):

I have no idea the only thing I can guess is somehow the .rdt file can do that, it shoudn't but it's the only overlay with green on it. If someone know how to work with "Substance" and can help maybe we can solve tha, otherwise removing the road details from the materials it works but we loose real road.

when I join a server with this track I have a green filter effect on the track, on single player its ok. any ideas?

Mak80_ I don't understand what you mean about railroad can you be more specific?
The material is not grass it is cement and it's a mistake I forgot to solve when I cut the pieces and it was no longer a racesurface I had other cases of it and this was not solved and it's only seen from the TV camera, but with time I'll get into it.
About the barriers wire/wood along the track (sometimes the open wheel car gets with the wheel in the other side if the impact is too strong) it can be solved one of this days with a different approach but it seems something normal with this engine (don't know why) I had the same problem in SPA 1966.

Ok Bryan it's not hard to do snow roads but for that we need that the game itself is prepared for it and I guess not. For ........ we had the technical programmers working on it and it had a great result but it needs dynamic weather and ground dynamic surfaces. You see that in rFactor a basic thing like automatic grow grass is not yet implemented. I wonder if it happens in rF3 all modern games already have it with success.

Best version of this track bar none. The added fences and hay bails make it much harder than the various RF1 conversions over the last 25 years. Excellent attention to detail.

You need a Patreon/Venmo link. Sooo, what would it take to do the same level of quality for Lienz??? ;)
