Keep up the good work!
The only thing I'd offer critique on is that the soundscapes could maybe use a little more work. It felt very quiet which, while it helped when it came to listening for approaching aliens, otherwise just felt off.
I enjoyed this entry! I liked the central idea of running away from the bad guys rather than fighting them, and you had some interesting ways of letting the player get around while giving them different options at any given moment.
I think my main critique was that the atmosphere was lacking. The aliens didn't feel very scary, I think you could've done more with sequences and lighting to give them a more intimidating feel. I also thought some of the puzzles were lacking - the plug puzzle for example didn't really have any substance to it, nor did I know what I'd actually done when I enabled the power. In other places you were studious about making sure the player saw the effect of buttons they pushed, so this oversight was more obvious as a result.
Overall, a solid entry.
JUDGE'S NOTES: A really nice entry with a solid core premise that you execute well throughout. Solving puzzles whilst largely unable to sort out the threats and having to evade them was a nice bit of cat-and-mouse gameplay. I'd echo sentiments that some of the monsters needed to be more clearly telegraphed as being invincible - I can believe a grunt, but a vortigaunt is generally an acceptable target for a crowbar. Visuals were also pretty nice - xen growth was well done. An all round pretty decent entry - well done.
