You probably want to go use the original mods again. They've been updated with the same stuff that this mod does as well as adding icons for the gestalt ethics for E&C Bug Branch. (And it still supports the original E&C mod if you use both)

This only has graphical modifications, it won't change the checksum.

There's no reason I know of that this would not work. I have no idea about the checksum though.
