I just found a bug caused by this soldier. In a covert mission, if the enemy ambush and you have this with another soldier, the turn fixes advent - lost - advent - lost advent lost, unable to control our characters, resulting in a fail

Oh well no biggie then. Guess I should buff other aura stats to compensate then.

Still kind of irk me a bit when the description of the perk said add crit, aim, etc... by 10 and then add 0 defense. Well, that just a nitpick anyway. Thanks for the answer.

If the value is not exposed to config by the author, there is nothing you can add to edit it

Is there any way to edit defense on Imperial Presence? I kind of want to make him be the omni aura buffer but defense is not specify in XComSkills_VKSquadmate.ini. I try to add ImperialPresence_defense = 10 in by myself but it seems not working.

Is it not possible or I use the wrong syntax?

+ViperSoldierCharacterTemplates="ViperKingSoldier"... these lines should be changed in required mod "Allies unknown redux Vipers->config->Animation configs" ?

viper king isn't appearing in the interrogation facility.. is there a console command to simply override this and force him as a sodlier? I might be soft locked out of this at this point lol..

For the longest time, the extra 18 Soldier Types in the Character Pool bothered me so much, and I thought there wouldn't be a fix for that very specific issue. There is.

Go to ...SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\2871786579\Config\Viper Guards and open XComClassData.ini . In every class template in that file, add bHideInCharacterPool=1 . This removes the 18 templates from the Character Pool, but keeps them functional for the Viper King's purposes.

Just did a "destroy transmitter" mission where the King spawned and was knocked unconscious again (because I had knocked it out on the first mission I found it on), and he didn't get captured. Neither him nor the other ADVENT units that I'd also knocked unconscious on the mission. Dunno if this is something to report on the main interrogation mod comments, though, or on here. Maybe because it was a guerrilla op?

I do not understand why, but when I turn this mod on the facility from interrogation and recruitment does not show up, which makes this mod impossible to use. I'm extremely confused about this.

seems like some weapon perks do not trigger, i tried with regular swords but also tried adding bladestorm to all other melee weapons who did not have the perk but for all weapons the passive shows up in his abilities when I am in a mission with a Sword Equipped but I never seem to get it to trigger melee attacks on enemies who move or attack from next to me.

Hey. Lovely mod overall, but I've found some bugs (if the author is still supporting this)

Subdue and choke don't get base STR bonus from the config file. It's caused by a wrong class listed in XComSkills_VKSquadmate.ini
Where it goes over values for "Regent Bind Defaults", it shows [VKSquadmate.X2Ability_VKMonarchy]
But what it should be: [VKSquadmate.X2Ability_VKRegent]
Can be easily fixed by an end-user, of course, but still it's best to update the mod if possible

VK's default frost spit leaves behind a cloud of poison without an upgrade. It also has no frost splash GFX

Tongue pull has no visible tongue, and just pulls in people with the power of VK's mind. Can be fixed by assigning VK default viper animations, but it kinda ruins his regal statue
A temp fix for those who are bothered: in AU: Viper species mod, in XComCharacterAnimations.ini, replace:
+ViperKingSoldierCharacterTemplates="ViperKingSoldier"
with
+ViperSoldierCharacterTemplates="ViperKingSoldier"

I think I can answer this. In the facility missions where you plant the X4 charges, you do not recover any of the bodies in the level, so the unconscious viper king was left behind as well. He should re-appear with a tiny amount of health in the future, so just knock him out and hope you get a mission where you recover bodies.

Also, if you ever enable the unique DLC mission where the viper king appears, it will softlock if you don't let him retreat.

i'm new to xcom so if i got something wrong then i'm sorry also sorry for any spelling mistakes aaaaaaand lastly if you have any tips or anything how to get him out please explain it in as simple way as possible because as i said before i'm a newbie sooo i dont know most of the saying/nicknames for stuff in xcom community

can you get him on very first encounter ? cause i got him randomly when i was doing one mission where i need to plant x4 charges aaaand i knocked him out in like middle of the mission i planted the x4 killed all remaining soldiers +2 additional groups from reinforsmant drops and the game still didnt finish and forced me to to manually extract whith VK downed and i wasnt able to pick him up or anything but still had "alien action" so i looked through entire map finding nothing and when i finished i had 13/14 kills meaning that the knocked down VK was last one and it didnt allow me to take him to interigate/recruit him, should i let him escape in 1st enounter ? or should i just continue and hope to get him again ?

I to have run into the issue where after capturing and recruiting the Viper King. I have had him spawn back in with his escorts, and at one HP. And every time I defeat him, he T-poses where he's defeated and I get another Viper King captive in the interrogation room.

Okay i Solved it - So the idea was that i had other mod - Playable Alien Rulers... And i spawned Viper king from that mod instead of yours... Sorry!

Hello! I have encountered something strange - Viper King that i recruit has like.... Different abilities than those that are visable in the picture here - Does anyone know what have i done wrong? I have all of the required mods - This one is happening both with LWoTC and on regular war of the chosen.

Imo , im not against having the viper king be op , he is unique , you have to beat him to recruit and when adding more mod , think can go wrong very fast specially in normal difficulty with stuff like lwotc or requiem .
Main issue with the viper is crash on summon other viper if load (just don't use this ability) , the game slow down when the viper king is active and he has some broken animation. Also fun to see him spawning as an ennemy with reinforcement but it's just a visual bug.

Subdue isn't suppose to deal any damage , it just stun , disorient or knock out the opponent .
The main use of this ability is to capture a target with others mod .

I'm experiencing a bug somewhere while the viper king ranks up, in missions whenever we spot enemies, he breaks concealments.

Since I was unable to personally find a way to only give the King two actions per turn even after having dug through the config files and some of the src files, I figured out a set up to make the king not omega super overpowered. Using other mods to give the King a pistol primary, then holotargeter secondary. That way the King actually has strengths and weaknesses, and isn't just a one man army alongside his soldiers, but instead has to rely on teammates to secure kills and deal the majority of the damage, commanding and calling out shots. You know, kinda like a leader would?

Im having a strange bug with the Supreme Reaction skill it appears that somehow my turns are sometimes skipped after the passive procd resulting in the enemy team getting his turn up to 3 times or more in a row. I dont know if thats a bug or some broken interaction with another mod. this dosent happen tho if Supreme Reaction dosent proc. The Viper King has almost all skills including Forward Operator if this is relevant.

Idly wondering if there's ways to add additional weapon categories (and skills) for Diverse Specialisation. Ex: You have a mod that changes what Boltcasters are considered and want them to have their own set of skills.

the turn count will not change anything.
This mission is hard coded to only end if the viper king is dead or has escaped.

As the VP is fultoned, it count for neither, you will need to load a save from before you futoned the king and let it escaped.

I find that a lot of problems people are having relates to not using "Integrated content". Or at least I haven't had the problems people are having using it. Try Integrated and it might work better.

Okay, so, I have a bit of a problem. I may have K.O.ed the Viper King, however, since it is at the cave where you first meet it, the mission just keeps on going. Any advice? It's not dead, just unconscious. And while I can fulton it out, And I have, the mission still continues, since the flag for killing or the VK escaping, does not count towards the objective, which has you kill the VK, does that mean I am now soft locked?
