It's not just for armor. It's for accessories too. Some of which, like wings still show when used even if hidden. Don't sleep on this

The base game has the Invisibility potion, which does what you want. Various mods in the workshop (including my own, absoluteAquarian's Infinite Buffs ) allow you to have it active for an infinite duration.

I wish literally every game that has headgear offered this as an option; while some hats and helms will look cool, some really just look goofy. Also, I got the animated hair mod so I could see my hair not a helm :HappyEshe:

After testing it, it does in fact work on minions with the critter shampoo (although light effects like the Terraprisma's rainbow glow or the Stardust Dragon's blue sparkles still show up)

You'd want to hide armor in the vanity slot if you're using vanity slots as item storage, which happens more often than you think when you have a bunch of mods adding different content that you carry around / pick up.

You can't hide armors in the vanity slot, nor any accessories that use non-conventional equipment slots (e.g. the Abyssal Diving Gear from Calamity) via that functionality.

True, although this mod also lets you hide vanity accessories if you felt like doing that
It also allows hiding accessories which use the head/body/legs equip textures

also, if you want to use solar armor with familiar as vanity, and don't like how the shield looks, you can use this!
