@Plague Dr - You don't need a reading mod for servers. You should be able to set reading speed directly in most server configs. So go ahead, and adjust that to whatever pace you prefer

Has anyone been able to get this mod to work on hosted servers? I've loaded up the mod into the server through the menu but when I load into the server this mod is not working the way it is supposed to.

Haven't used this in a while, so I checked the comments to see what I previously wrote:

"Having this set at 20.0 seems a fair level IMO" - I gotta say, I disagree with my past self here. The default settings are 2 min per page. Apparently the average person IRL reads at 1.7 mins per page, so I'm guessing this is loosely based on that.

Still seems slow to me. Takes about 20-30 secs to speed read a page (personally) and about twice that at a slower pace. So x2 would make my char read at my own pace. x20 would effectively be 1 page per second in game XD

(I know this mod reduces the tome's page size, so it's kinda a moot point, but yeah)

Does not work for me. This mod is loaded last but changing to 100 has no effect. Other speed reading mods also stopped working, don't know why.

and im not going to sit there for a hour to read a book lol

darn it does not work with time scaling such as real time

fucked up and wrote 0.5 and now my books have +1000 pages

@_nxteboi Are you on an existing save by chance? The mod only affects books that are discovered after the it is installed. I'm currently working on a solution that will also work on existing books.

Hey, I'm a bit lost with one thing, does this affects only the Vanilla Books or reading as a whole?

Having this set at 20.0 seems a fair level IMO. it takes a little longer than a TV show at this rate. At 25.00 it's about the same (maybe a bit faster) than the "book" literature item. I think 50.00 was about as fast as a magazine, and 100.00 is just crazy fast lol

@Last Shadow- This mod is really intended for single player, since multiplayer already has a setting for reading speed as you mentioned. I would recommend just using the vanilla minutes per page setting on MP.

Have this mod in a multiplayer server, if i had this on 100 and also had minutes per page setting on high, would that counteract it? because it now takes me like a whole minute to read a comic

there is a "minutesPerPage" setting in sandbox. but it also affects magazines with is why im looking for a mod to read only books faster

@TEA_Hustler The mod works by modifying the number of pages in a book. Any books that have already spawned in the world will still have the vanilla page count. I'm still working on how to retroactively apply the mod to existing books.

@Dark The mod works by altering the number of pages in skill books, so it will still work on existing saves for any skill books you find moving forward.

i dont use this mod, but i have to say: this is the best thumbnail i've ever seen

this is only necessary for single player since multiplayer already has an adjustable setting for this.

we set it so high in our multiplayer games that books basically were read instantly, and for whatever reason, that was very satisfying xD

It was a big help because I like to RP without fast forwarding and this mod makes reading SO MUCH more bearable! Thank you!!! :)
