Oh... Now that is a peculiar suggestion. I'm usually the type of person who'd like to have a skin that fits the caliber or the original gun in question. I.e the game has a M16? I'll get an M16 or M4 skin! This is also particularly funny to me since I swore I had seen something similar what you're suggesting, lo and behold in NMRIH workshop I find this:

AK-74 for the M16A4 carryhandle because I'm getting sick of using an AKM that only has single Fire mode...

You can do that but I also wanna say we have a lot of options if we disregard c_arms. And privately I have a c_arms updated tigg M16 (I am just in love with thicc A2 handguards).

But give me your suggestion I'll take a look and see for myself.

I agree! We can thank Luchador for the SKS and Lt. Rocky for his L4D2 compile! It still feels odd however that there were literally almost nothing in terms of SKS skins. I glad I could at least contribute one good looking one.
