Hey, what's up! I talked in this comments section last year and i'm back again, for a completely different reason this time!
I wanted to inquire if it would be acceptable for me to utilize a decompiled version of this map as a reference point for developing my own Project Zomboid maps in Hammer.
Louisville would be too large to fit into the max size of a source map. However if someone wants to do it using the tech powering infinite maps, then be my guest.
There's a challenge called "You Only Have One Day" currently in Base Game PZ, although some Textures aren't the same as old PZ (Although I'm pretty sure that "most" of the textures are fine).
Ex. Bookshelfs In The Hardware Store (and a bunch of other places) That Hold Hardware Instead Of... y'know... books, From Your Isometric Perspective You can't see the curb for when the road ends and the sidewalk begins, Etc.
If You're worried about the "24 Hours" time limit you can go into launch options and put -debug and activate cheats to make yourself invisible to zombies.
There's a few different ways to see/understand the old map (With Correct Textures), here's my ranking for them from Least-Recommended (top) to Recommended (bottom)

That saves me a lot of math to do in regards to Knox County, thank you! I've done some calculations myself using 64 hammer units as 1 tile, the max tile size of a PZ map that can be made in Source is 512x512 tiles.
About the possibility of recreating Knox County; I've been considering it as part of my map ideas, however it would be difficult to recreate as I don't have the decade-old PZ demo anymore to use as reference and the PZ map website example wouldn't be enough to work off of. I need to check if someone made the map playable in PZ's current version and then maybe I'll be able to look into recreating it down the line.
This is a really impressive map!
You should slowly work towards the old knox county map from the alphas, every "Tile" is 64 hammer units. and i've calculated through the PZWorldEd's LotPack viewer that the knox county map is about 300x300 tiles which would be 19200x19200 in hammer units.
