I made something similar for the wood elevs of anyone is interested
The glowing bow effect is hardbaked into the Sisters' animation set.
In order to get it working on male animation skeletons, you'd have to create a whole new animation pack based on the male archer animation with the glow effect added in.
Certainly possible, but outside of my field of expertise I'm afraid, though there might be people on the modding Discord who could help you out.
Alternatively you could stick with the original animation and rerig the models you want to use to the female animation skeleton.
Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
@weenoTM
1:1 for the most part.
Actually I just want to replace Sisters of Avelorn with male High Elf Archers that use the beautiful glowing bows.
If I replace the sisters bodyparts in variantmeshdefinitions I end up with deformed bodies (because they use different skeletons). I can prevent that by changing the "Man animation" in "land_units_table" from "hu1b_hef_avelorn_sword_and_bow" to "hu1d_elf_sword_and_bow". Then the unit looks fine but the glow effect from the bows is gone - probably because it is part of the sisters animation?
So is there any simple way to achieve male Archers with glowing bows?
I would be very grateful for help. Thanks
Do you plan to make the same work for Dark Elves ?
Not getting anything on my end; is it possible you got something else causing the crash?
Check the comments on my Asur Cosmetics mod; I've posted an explanation there.
In the variantfdefinition file there are soundfiles associated with the unit (usually in the torso section). You can swap those out for female voices or mix the two together.

My mod treats female heads as separ<te from the helmet, so you can just use those. For the male head just use the default head of what you're replacing the helmet with.
@Anri
Thanks for letting me know, should be fixed now.
Hey, lovely mod! Actually something that should be part of vanilla game.
Would it be possible for you to clean your mod with only head changes, and not touching textures, weapons, shield, and if possible helmets?
I'm changing the head of spearmen in my mod for another helmet, so I only need the head inside to be female and make, without touching the helmet.
I was able to merge my mod into yours, though there's a lot of things going on, and still have problems with some shield and armor texture details.
Thanks!
seems to have spawned a pretty creepy Full Fedora-crowd around it, though... hopefully not infectious
