They are re-programmed to avoid attacking other operatives, and only to inflict their rage onto enemies.

Do these soldats kill thier own because of their own grief

okay i made my own lore for them the crimsonat is also really good bullet dodgers but not only with the sterrolation squad sometimes they go alone to knock out skyscrapers and buildings

This is an issue with the preview build of the game, the full release will have it (hopefully) fixed.

i am having a bug with all characters where they will drop all weapons on spawn, might be a mod i have but i am unsure.

In terms of aesthetics - yes, there is certainly a connection. In terms of purpose/modifications however - they are entirely different.
