With just my mod and Vanilla Psycasts Expanded I am seeing no issues. I am led to believe that some other mod you are running is also editing Vanilla Psycasts Expanded. You'll have to go through your mod list and see if any other mods are already doing what my mod does.

i was just looking for this exact type of mod, i don't like trying to build a Colony of Psycasters only to find i can't use all the types, thanks for making it

Cool. At least it was an easy thing to test this time. Some of these mods and mod conflicts are a royal pain to figure out.

That tells me the Alpha Animals patch is no longer needed. I will get rid of it and update the mod as soon as I can.

Seems like it's possible without your mod. If the Oculist path needs a specific background it isn't showing it.

@Demonlord09 If you are able to, can you load up a new save without my mod and with Alpha Animals and check if the Oculist psycast path can be taken by any pawn regardless of backstory?

Hmm, it looks like something to do with the psycast path from Alpha Animals. Without my mod installed, does it still lock the Oculist psycast path without a specific backstory?

I'm getting an error on startup when I load with a lot of mods, but I can't reproduce it with only a minimal modlist:

@JACK as far as i can tell it is working on 1.5 with anomoly. jnust gives a minor log error. i may be missing something tho

I don't know if you have plans to add the Transcendent tree but please don't. It's meant to be exclusive to that gene and having it available to everyone would make skipmaster worthless.

@알빠노? Due to the fact that the majority of Hemosage psycasts utilize and require hemogen (which in itself would require the pawn to be a Sanguophage), I will not be removing the requirement of being a Sanguophage from Vanilla Psycasts Expanded - Hemosage.

@ ajemte67a It will load with it, but it does not patch anything in it.
@ Victor I just tested it and No Backstory-Locked Psycast Paths loads error-free if Alpha Animals is not loaded. Perhaps some other mod is interfering with your load order?

@ Bafac If you have this mod and Vanilla Psycasts Expanded both enabled in your mod load, then it should be activated by default. All this mod does is allow all pawns to unlock the Archotectist and Wildspeaker psycast paths (and the Natural meditation focus) using the VPE level up points. If you are unsure on how to spend points to unlock things, try looking in the Vanilla Psycasts Expanded.

Hi maybe I'm stupid but how do you activate this mod? I downloaded this mod + the vanilla psycasts Expanded but cannot find the screen (shared above) where you can unlock all of that. Do I need an additional mod?

@Tureis I haven't tested things with children, so I am unsure how they can acquire psycasting. However, once they gain psycasting through whatever means, this mod will allow them to gain Natural Meditation with a psycast point.

With natural meditation unlocked pawns can use the anima tree right? One of the things that annoys me greatly is that children born in colony in 1.4 now don't have natural meditation even if you were completely tribal in tech.

@DisKorruptd I am not seeing any obvious errors involving my mod in your hugslib log. Try disabling the Naturalist trait mod and testing to see if that fixes it. If not, re-enable it and try disabling one of the other psycaster mods you have. Repeat until you either find the incompatible mod or you go through all of your psycaster mods.

oh, frick forgot to mention one more mod, Naturalist trait, which only serves to give a pawn the Natural focus type (doesn't work with VPE it seems? so I figured I'd use your mod to force it in)

@DisKorruptd Are you using any other mods that edit anything concerning Psycasting in general? Also, use HugsLib to see if any errors come up with your problem.

Not seeming to be able to unlock natural meditation, even gave myself a level using dev mode and then left dev mode... tried to unlock and it ate the point.

@The_Broker Yup that fixed it. Thank ya for the help! I set up a custom rule for Rimpy to make it work without me having to fiddle with it myself and I'll be sharing that to the database aswell so it'll at least be a stopgap for some until you decide to update.

I think I know what the problem is. If I am reading your Hugslib file correctly, it seems my mod is set to load before AlphaAnimals. I forgot to add a loadAfter operation in the files to suggest that my mod needs to be loaded after Vanilla Psycasts Expanded and AlphaAnimals. Try re-ordering the mods and see if that fixes the problem.

Updated this mod to allow Alpha Animals' Oculist Psycast Path to be unlocked without the Biological Corruptors meme.

Hey! So Alpha Animals Recently released an update adding psycasts using VPE, and one of the paths (occultist) are locked behind an ideology meme, so if you coukd add support for that it would be awesome!


(Note: this lock only exists if Ideology DLC is installed)

Updated this mod to allow the Natural Meditation Focus Type to be unlockable with psycaster level points.

Also, I added a separate mod that unlocks all focus types (without having to spend points on them if you have Vanilla Psycasts Expanded).

Have you found which XML file has all of the meditationfocusdefs? I looked all through the Royalty folders and couldn't find them.

You could try to patch out the required backstory for meditation foci

It does not, though I did look into it. Unfortunately, I could not find anything on the focus types that govern mediation spots.
