Everywhere I spawn one or two of my bases I place four of these guys on all four corners. I have done this in Zirax territories where I get attacked quite often because I have stolen bases and whole territories which guarantees I get attacked regularly. This setup is ridiculous and that's good.

Thanks for confirming! It also includes a generator & fuel tank so all is not lost on MP server! The power draw is really low too, so it’s really cheap to fuel.

Can confirm that this is only affecting multiplayer. In singleplayer-mode, these turrets work fine!

That could be the unpredictability of solar in MP, I’m not totally sure. I’ve used these in single player, and they work well. Solar works at spawn & after leaving the planet & returning.

On my server, the buried solar panels worked when i placed the structure. Wenn i logged in the next time, they had stopped working.

The game doesn’t care if they are buried or not. It seems them all the same & they function normally.

If I may ask.. what good are buried solar panels?
