it's the same situation as with the chosen weaknesses (but as modders have found a way around that coding i'm sure it's only matter of time before someone finds a way around this too)

it's not just CI it's vanilla covert actions too it seems t only recognize the base game faction heroes not custom ones

If you look at the screenshots I uploaded on my profile, it shows the behavior. Unfortunately, it doesn't get us closer to why it's happening. There was not rank requirement for the Optional Slot on the Covert Infiltration (my Reaper Monk was very low rank).

Yes, I'm running Multiple Faction Soldier Classes. I did observe the enhanced damage on a modded Skirmisher class, but I didn't have a chance for this specific Reaper Monk class yet.

Perhaps I'm not remembering correctly, but maybe the CI requirement was for a Reaper of a certain rank, although I don't remember seeing a rank requirement. I might try and find a prior save and see if that was the issue.

Hrm, you're using Multiple Faction Soldier Classes, right? I don't think the mod would work, but just want to make sure you are.

I only play Covert Infiltration these days, and I know I've used them to do unlocks that require a Reaper of a certain rank, and I know Chosen take extra damage if vulnerable. I can't say that I've ever used them for the purpose you mention, but it seems like it should work too.

I'm running the Covert Infiltration Mod and for some reason, Reaper Monk is not recognized as a Reaper (could add it as a Reaper on a Chosen CI Mission to negate getting wounded). I tried changing the class of the Reaper Monk to a plain Reaper using Console Commands, but I've been unable to get that command to work despite other commands working. Does anybody know why Reaper Monk isn't considered a Reaper and how to possibly fix this in the config file?

@IconofEvi Hmm it's not intended, I'm not sure what would be causing it other than something to do with taking more actions. I'm too far removed from XCom 2 modding to be able to competently make changes I feel. =/

Love this mod Kelvae, just one weird thing I noticed. Is it working as designed for the monk to lose will so fast? Just putting him on a mission will tank it even. Doesn't matter if he was full before, if he didn't get hit, if no one died, no one panicked, on the mission back, they're shaken and out of action for days and days with like 1 or 2 will left.

Get this mod https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1370543410 and select the character and do RebuildSelectedSoldiersClass, it tends to give an error with faction characters, but it still works.

@l335maan Hmm, I'm not sure I suspect it would be some other mod compatibility, try rebuiliding the class using the console and see if it's still messed up.

I have a pretty big problem with using this mod. I have all of the prerequisite mods (except for Primary Secondaries, since I use True Primary Secondaries), but ALL of the Reaper Monk's perks are messed up. I do not see any of the perks added by this class. Closed Fist is the biggest offender. Here's what I have in my tree for it:

Fortress
Inspire
Silent Fuse
Soul Merge
Malaise
Disable

It's... all regular Psi stuff. Umbral Disciple only has four skills.
I have two Stormriders and they work fine. I have Mitzurti's Perk Pack. What's going on and how can I fix it? I've finally rescued a Monk after 150+ hours in this campaign and I was SO excited to use this class, but it's broken.

@Talon technically yes, but Shadow has a fixed base detection radius of 1, so it doesn't work with Silent Takedown unless you turn off the detection entirely which is pretty busted. There might be some mods out there that fix this issue or the visual, I don't personally care for the visual much, but they should still use the Reaper animations when concealed.

Is there a way to give them the Shadow Cloak ability instead of Phantom, or in addition to their usual kit? I feel like i'm missing the "reaper" vibe without the aesthetics of Shadow

@RambelZambel So you need to do this too:
[XComGame.X2SoldierClass_DefaultClasses]
+SoldierClasses="ReaperMonk"
At the start of the file. Which registers the class to spawn at all, this is handled by multiple faction heroes mod for the base Reaper Monk.

Then you need to change these values, default is 1 and 4, changing that can cause vastly more or less to spawn.
+NumInForcedDeck=1
+NumInDeck=4

I'd probably also delete the factionclasses.ini so nothing goes wonky with that. You also might not be able to get reaper armour to spawn, I'm not sure, but if that's a problem can enable soldier armour on them.

Interestingly enough, it *does* work just fine with LWOTC otherwise (aside from promotion levels being short one rank, but I'm used to that). In fact, I started a new campaign where a Monk just happened to be there and his melee attacks worked well enough then. It was only when I filled his weapon slots with something that the class decided not to work right

Uh, it probably does not work with LWotC. It's a pretty significant rework of some things, and I have no experience with it, so I don't know what would be necessary to make it compatible.

If the class works otherwise, which would surprise me, you can add other melee weapons to work with Flurry via the XComMonkAbility.ini config, you'll see the unarmed weapons on there, can just add anything.

Well, I think I can confirm that this class doesn't work properly with LWOTC. My Monk has brass knuckles and combat boots equipped, yet melee strikes simply will not appear as options in combat. I guess he's a true pacifist then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok I fixed the issue with some abilities not rolling for reveal, also Blade Rave has much lower reveal chance since otherwise it was basically a guaranteed reveal to hit 3 times.

True Primary Secondaries worked for me when I tested, other than initially being equipped with no primary, but that's only an issue on Gatecrasher really.

couldn't figure out how to contact you on discord because I've never used discord before. but i believe I've figured out the problem i switched from True primary secondaries back the original one and everything worked fine. just to make sure though are the special attacks like hellcry punch meant to break concealment when using silent takedown? if so there's no problems if not then i'll have to keep digging

@Kelvae. after experimenting more the issue is weirder than i thought. after resetting the config files and starting a new campaign the Monks concealment works just fine during gatecrasher and even a few missions after. but then the same bug happened again this time i noticed that when the reaper gets revealed there's a green blood effect coming from the enemy and a noise similar to the neurosympathy gene mod from Enemy within. sometimes the word miss will apear over a enemies head even though i have not attacked them. i suspect that the issue has to do with the unarmed weapons and the game thinking i'm trying to attack even though i'm no where near them .

it's also a good idea to set Multiple Faction soldier classes to NOT favor the new classes, so you have an equal chance of getting any kind of reaper. Otherwise you're basically going to get solely Monks, or Scythes, etc. It's in the Inis.

@djpaulycee Any Reaper you get can be a Reaper Monk, it's just random, so either the starting faction hero, the one you get for meeting a faction covert op, or a covert op to give you an additional faction hero. If you have the console enabled you can use MakeFactionSoldierAClass command to change to a Reaper Monk, just type this:
MakeFactionSoldierAClass "Firstname Lastname" ReaperMonk
Using the soldier's name obviously.

@TRON4.0 I dunno, I've never had that problem, so without more information I don't know what to say.

iv'e encountered a bug where my reaper monk is detected when they see enemies no matter how far away the pod is if my reaper sees them they are revealed. this does not happen for any other class including the vanilla reaper

@Shapeless Because I'm dumb and forgot to put Stealth Overhaul as a required mod, I'd also recommend Combat Knives for the throwing knives, but it shouldn't be required.

@Kelvae: I'm not saying the class itself isn't decent. It's just it makes no sense XD The Reapers are a rather paranoid "Anything remotely alien should not be trusted or should even destroyed" lot. Psionics count for that.

There is after all a reason why the Factions didn't get along previous to XCOM uniting them. Sure, it's more noticeable between the Reapers and Skirmishers, but both equally distrusted the Templars as well. Probably because they followed Geist's agenda, and were just as likely to backstab them as help them.

the Scythe at least is a Super-Stealthy Assassin and stays in line with the Faction. same with the monk here.
