First of all, great mod! Thank you! Really appreciate your hard work!

Second, mod is throwing the following redscreen error:

Error: Redscreen: ImportText (Loots): Unknown member Loots in: (Chance=100,MinCount=1,MaxCount=10,TemplateName="AlienAlloy",RollGroup=2, Loots[2]=(Chance=100,MinCount=1,MaxCount=9,TemplateName="EleriumDust",RollGroup=3))

From the file <XComGameCore.ini>, line 13, there is a missing bracket at the end of:
TemplateName="AlienAlloy",RollGroup=2,

should be:

TemplateName="AlienAlloy",RollGroup=2),

Simple enough, but pesky redscreens can really gum up the works. Hope this helps...

Just downloaded this, encountered the Hutts. Not the Sisters yet, and but I am both excited and scared for that encounter. The Rancor scares me.

I've experienced this same bug with the Nightsisters. I'm wondering if it's an incompatibility with something else I have installed? Unfortunately I have a 700+ mod setup and no way to diagnose the problem in a reasonably short time.

Hello everyone, for me the Hutt Cartel and Night Sisters Faction are no spawning on missions. Their Sitrep is there saying they would be present. But when I get to the mission. They are not in there. I also have the Bandit mod and the Resistance and both these groups show up as normal. It's just the Hutt Cartel and Night Sisters that don't show up for some reason.

I just wanted to say I finally encountered a higher force level for Nightsisters, and it was a blast! I really enjoyed the concept of Rancor and Tamers being companion NPC's. Similar to how your Galactic to Advent puts in medics, having actual team cohesion is a fantastic idea.

the raid HQ mission for this faction is horrifically insane! make sure you bring every over powered unit/item you have. you"ll face 9 to 10 squads. most reanimate with more health then they started with. i faced 4 rancors and 2 shadow rancors. It was an insane fight that i lost. a crushing blow for xcom that day. Guess the nightsister are here to stay lol

Their aim and/or damage output needs to go down. They barely ever miss a single shot, regardless of cover, height or distance. It's ridiculous.

The only thing I can think of that can make a 'chipped' version of anything is the Xenozoologist class. A mod that lets your soldier spawn and control advent troops, codex's, and spectres. So I reckon that could be it though I didn't have one of those soldiers out on this particular mission.

Nope. They should look like the original Nightsister unit they split from.

I *think* I used the original Codex split ability for the Nightsister unit so if you have a mod that overrides that ability that may be where the issue is coming from.

Hm.. I see. Are they supposed to look like normal Codex's with the name 'Chipped Codex'? Not sure what's up with their health pool either but there's a ton of it whenever they split. Not sure what could be conflicting with it. I'll see if the issue replicates itself next time and report back with my findings.

There is a Nightsister unit, I believe I called it the Shadowstalker, that does a Codex-style split when hit. But the original and the new unit should each have only half of the original unit's health pool.

I seem to be getting a glitch that causes a 'chipped codex' to spawn from one of the nightsisters. Every time the chipped codex is hit, it makes a clone of itself with tons of HP. Is this intentional or am I experiencing a mod conflict possibly? Eventually it gets to a point where there's so many 'chipped codexes' that they're overwhelming with too much hp. Anyone else getting this issue? Only happens with the night sisters.

Uploaded a fix to the Encounter Lists ini file; it was erroneously set to spawn T3 leader witches and sisters superior regardless of force level. Thanks to Stukov for pointing this out to me.

Is there a way to recruit or interrogate the Nightsisters? I have fultoned them out after stunning them and knocking them out, but they don't appear in the brig or in the soldier list. Just curious. Thanks.

@MostlyHarmless Thank you, I ended up having to reload to the GeoScape autosave and just skip the mission.

"Oh no don't skip, you'll take a hit to your income!"
*Considering I had to reload 6 times, trying different strategies, I'll take the hit.*

I implemented a fix that should prevent getting pods of 5 rancors. That was not intended spawning behavior. Apologies to everyone who has made tweaks to your config files because this will reset your changes. I could have announced that I was going to make the change ahead of time but I didn't want it to slip my mind, get busy with something else and forget.

I probably won't be changing the Rancor HP as they are intended to be peers to Sectopods. They have more health than Sectopods to account for their lack of armor. These stats can be changed pretty easily in the CharacterStats ini file though.

Can you please tone down the normal Rancor (not juvenile) health please? 56 is ridiculous.
I did a surgical sitrep mission to escort a VIP, and there were FIVE Rancors in a squad. I was not able to really hurt any of them, and all they did was surround my soldiers, stun them and do serious damage. Then they just keep attacking even while thesoldiers of mine are stunned.

Worse this is on Commander Difficulty too.

@Sandarian: Was it one pod of 5 adult rancors or 5 adult rancors spread throughout multiple pods? Raider base pods are defined in the XComEncounters ini file. The only pods that should have Rancors in the base missions are the "Strong" pods, and then only 1 Rancor per pod. If you are encountering single pods of 5 rancors then that's a bug I need to fix.

Sorry to hear about the trouble some people are having getting this faction to appear. The suggested mods worked in my tests. Beyond that I'm not sure what to recommend. Like I say I believe NightNinja has some kind of sitrep manager mod that he put out but I don't have any experience with it myself.

I have to say, this faction compared to the other factions you've made are massively overtuned. Especially for their raider base mission, having 5 adult rancors, 4 weirdsisters and 3 rancor tamers all appearing after chewing through 6-7 sisters, brothers, and superiors is neigh impossible. I had a fully stacked 10 man squad with 7 Colonels, and still only managed to kill one rancor before they got to my team and wiped me. I'll have to play around with the pod sizes, but there needs to be some stricter limits on numbers of specific units per pod.

@Vaultwulf I had my one and only encounter in almost the end of game in a random guerilla ops. That was the first and only time I saw them. It's now like 20+ missions later (i'm dragging time just to encounter them) and yet haven't seen them again after that

Either I'm doing something wrong or there's another issue but nighsisters do not show up on any missions. Did everything. Even got the suggested mods. Other factions show up and there is a NightSister HQ on the map but nothing more

That is also on the list of things that I want to do but can't promise if/when I'll get around to it. There are other changes I want to make to that mod as well, including adjustments to the AI and adding support for raider faction bases.

Okay . . . but the line currently in my mod is character-for-character the same as the line that you are telling me to replace it with. As in I can ctrl+f the line you told to use and it's a perfect match for the line that's already in there.

To answer some of the questions that have come up:

I have no idea if this mod will work with LWOTC. I have no experience with that overhaul.

So when it comes to getting playable versions of the faction bosses, you can use Dropunit console commands to drop them into tactical battles. I think I have the template names for most of the bosses in the descriptions of the mods that add them. If you’re talking about recruitable versions, that's a lot of work that I don’t really have the energy for lately.

Higher level witches have the Insanity and Schism abilities. So if you have other mods or config settings that boost the damages of those abilities the Nightwitches will benefit from that as well.

Soldier cosmetics from this mod can now be found in the Nightsister Faction Cosmetics mod (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2858213930) and some of the weapons can be found in the Nightsister Faction Weapons mod (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2858248083) .
