Just a heads-up to anybody curious, this mod does not make it so multiple units can attack a single target at the same time, all combat remains one on one, it simply removes the dueling animations.

Very cool mod, also it curiously fixed the infantry fatigue bug, very nice

These are just changes to the animation sets. In that way it's game wide. No changes were made to cavalry however, as all of their animation is matched combat.

Is this a tweak done on every unit of the game or is it something "game wide"?. I am trying to figure if it will work with modded units by default or it would be needed to tweak each modded unit individually

Units keep cohesion better as there aren't any animations where they end up in the middle of an enemy formation, and battles might even be slightly faster than before. Units still live and die at the whims of MA and MD. It definitely keeps lines cleaner.

Are there any particular units you find them struggling against? I can take a look and see what the deal is.

In my personal experience, basically any samurai infantry unit is fully capable of beating Yari Ashigaru in yari wall, even yari samurai. Their main power comes from sheer weight of numbers.

Obviously Yari wall grants a decent advantage, (ie, attacking without retaliation) but there's also this very annoying behavior where, as the formation starts losing numbers, the soldiers will actually switch the side they're standing on instead of just filling in the gap right in front of them. That has always been my main source of frustration.

I may have been out of line when I posted that comment. Because I can't find anything specific that shows explicitly what I'm trying to say. Yari Wall just simply feels a lot weaker with this mod on, almost as if turning it on made no difference. I can't explain it. My experience comes from playing legendary campaign and multiplayer tournaments (No, these tournaments were not avatar battles).

As far as I could tell when I made this, Yari wall uses only sync animations (really just attack animations) anyway. The thing that makes Yari ashigaru good is all the upgrades they can get during the campaign. In a straight up fight they lose a lot of the time, even in yari wall.

That said, do you mind specifying which one?

I wonder if it would be possible to have sword on sword matched combat, but spear formations not matched.

Also, just an idea but could you make a mod where it's the same but you kept some of the kill animations?
