I haven't thought of that. I don't remember how exactly it works, but I think it would require adding the arakkoa into the default colonist pawnkinds but this would probably interfere with normal play.
The issue is that the arakkoa in this mod are built using pre-biotech systems, so they're not a xenotype and there is no integration in the default interface. But I think it might work with like the Character Editor mod.

Yes I checked it. You can use character editor in the initial colonist selection to generate Arakkoa. You click the small button top-right of pawn preview (pawn creation and extended functions) then select Arakkoa in the left drop-down menu and then press the plus button. It is a bit scuffed though

I see that there is also a way to restrict pawn generation in the initial pawn selection to specific HAR alien races but idk how that works (looking into that now...)

Are we supposed to be able to select a Arakkoa xenotype to use on any of the scenario starts, or are they locked only to the Arakkoa tribal start? I was hopping to play them as the gravship or crash landing start but I can only spawn them in as their tribal faction.

Hey Intrspace... it's not that no one wants it. I haven't played for a few months while waiting for the new DLC. I literally just came back today and this mod was the second that I checked the status on. This is my first chance to say I look forward to an update, and I always play with this race.You're appreciated, even if we don't always say it. Thank you.

An update would be appreciated. It's fun to fight several factions from different franchises and a simple mod like this means that I don't have to scan for compatibility issues.

I consulted the smart people on Discord and the only thing I can tell you is to stop using EDB Prepare Carefully because it has poor compatibility with HAR races :p
People instead use Character Editor which has the same functionality

I don't know if this is intentional, or simply an issue of me using hundreds of mods all at once. But it seems that all Arakkoa that don't have the Cursed Xenotype become Sanguophages instead. Is this normal?

Unfortunatelly I dont have the biotech dlc so i cant experience those components you talk about. But with theother two dlc it seemsto work fine for me

In regards to the last update, I wanted to make the Arakkoa lay eggs, but that's beyond my ability. They're not mammals, but the current in-game depiction isn't that inaccurate. Did you know that some birds, such as pigeons, flamingos and emperor penguins, produce "crop milk" from their beaks? They use it to feed their young :)
Also idk if the cursed arakkoa are balanced or fun, but they're quite an important aspect of Arakkoa lore, so I feel like they should be in the mod.

Sadly I stopped working on Rimworld mods because I've kinda lost interest in the game. Do tell me if something is broken though and I will fix it of course :p

I have been informed that this is caused by blacklisting of skin colour genes and a fix is on the dev version of HAR. I was also told that right now the only fix is to remove the blacklist, and any existing pawns will need to have a skin colour gene manually added (I recommend the Character Editor mod)

Genes and xenotypes and such aren't yet integrated into HAR, so those are untouched by me. I will look into that when HAR is updated :)

That is intended. The Arakkoa don't have breasts because they're not mammals, but they have larger pectoral muscles to facilitate flight. This body type matches their bodies in WoW. It did look a bit weird to me as well, but I wrote it off as human biases.
The alternative would be to add the male average body which, I think, doesn't match at all. Or the thin body which is kinda boring. In that case, both males and females would need to have access to the thin body, so that their androgynous nature is preserved, but that probably wouldn't solve the issue you experience :p

The only thing that turns me off on this mod is the fact that there is only one body type. (Female average) Please add the male ones too!

Uh sorry. I've never used CE and I never really intended to make it compatible (unless someone asks).
I've heard there's a CE race patcher that should make it work I guess, I will make it compatible soon, hopefully

There appears to be a bug with Combat Extended and Ammo, in which they still use it and everything works from a mechanical standpoint except it no longer displays the ammo type, amount in the gun, and won't let you manually reload or change their ammo type they are using because that part of the interface is just gone.

Eyyy im back, the glitch seems to have been fixed successfully so thats great, thanks for this mod i really like me some birds! The only critique i'd put in here is their eyes seem quite cartoonish in comparison to other race mods i use, but thats just personal thought.

Im also using the mod alongside Argonians of Blackmarsh, and using "Panwkind Race Diversification" to make both races appear alongside human factions more seamlessly.

All in all, i've played with the arakkoa for a while now and have had no issues whatsoever, great mod (By the way the arakkoa "Immortals" are terryfying to fight agaisnt lol, I love it)

I think I found a bug. Attempting to perform the opperation to install a Plasteel Prosthetic Beak to a prisoner with a missing beak seems to destroy the item and the medicine used for it upon finishing the operation. The patient is still without a beak, and the doctor didnt gain any experience from the operation.

I tested with the steel beak and got the same result.

I tried with a simple prosthetic leg and the operation was successful though, Installing both prosthetic and normal tails also went well.

Lastly I installed a normal beak to a patient without one and the beak was restored. So it seems that the prosthetic beaks are the ones giving issues.

If it helps, I used Rah's Bionics and Surgery Expancion mod while testing.
