Similar to the Borealis, but on a somewhat of a global scale.
Yes.
No.
Vargomats are not specifically clones of eachother just because they are made in factories. The core of facilities producing Vargomats is the Outputter, an ancient artifact containing all necessary data for Vargomat production. It attempts to make all Vargomats it produces have a different "genetic" code.
Some experts speculate that a very long time ago a 3rd party faction created them for unknown reasons. Vargomats from that era had features that made them appear organic, despite always being made out of artificial materials. This was, perhaps, to give Vargomats an illusion of existing naturally.
Just recently have Vargomats discovered that this is not the case, and removed unnecessary features, and added beneficial ones, which caused a drastic change in their expernal and internal appearance. This made them not only stronger and overall better than the original, but also made them clearly synthetic.
Yes.
Most weapons are getting a redesign in 1.7.
Some features of soldats are based on Combine Soldiers. Not counting in the bad marksmanship.
Juggernautats literally have exosuits capable of punching through a concrete wall. And yes, all Corman soldiers have been augumented. Due to Vargomats being synths, their behaviour can be easily changed. A conscript's behaviour code is changed into a much more fight-focused version. This bares Corman soldiers out of any emotion and makes them cold and tactical during combat.
