when I booted it up it showed up as missing_Flashbang (I'm playing Terror from the Void)
what's going on?

@MacGyver Look in the manufacturing screen. it looks like the sonic grenade.

@ArchAngel I hear you but What would be the difference between the flash bang and the sonic grenade? The sonic Grenade applies dazed status. What I might do is instead Apply Trembling status that way accuracy is reduced by 50 %

Can you add a smoke granade? The granade could cover some teren with smoke :)

The flash bangs apply the dazed status but it doesn't seem to effect aliens in the way one would expect (ie can't shoot or at least become very inacurate and/or reduce movement),

Or maybe you could make alternative version of Flashbang that does sonic 15 (or if it is possible does just shock damage, lets say 200) and it is available from start of the game so PP has more useful options and not just Odin Grenade?

This brings perception to 0 is what smoke grenades should do.

Hey. How about it dazes instead, that is more like how real flashbangs work, they don't just blind, they do a sonic boom and also a loud bang. Anyone hit by all 3 will be reeling on the floor and not being able to do much

Those are all risky. Seriously, trying to break the arm of a Pure assault unit is a risky prospect.
This gives a preparatory way to deal with the problem

I thought the solution for Return Fire was to disable the person's arm, destroy their gun, or just engage from a distance outside their effective range?

Interesting, but I question the usefulness of this, since other members of your team can still spot enemies for you even if you have no perception. It ruins Overwatch and Return Fire though. Maybe it should also reduce accuracy?
