The more the merrier (mods and other/new modders).
How to add a finished mod to Steam is not a secret, I even wrote a guide on it:

Deadly Stream is a great community for modders, they also have a Discord and there's the KotOR Discord for modding questions.
You can look into turning things into a Steam mod once you have successfully modded your own game. Steam also has a lot of limitations, that's also another chapter for after you've modded your own game.
Dantooine: I know what you mean, but I kept things in line with the vanilla textures. They are upscaled and the blending/alpha layer is improved. Details like that aren't that noticable with the vanilla files because it's all pretty crappy. But hey.. it's alien grass.
During my current playthrough I got to Dxun, and the ground in a shot-down Republic ship looks okay, if I am not using your mod, but Vurt's Exterior Graphics Overhaul. I recommend you try it, without your mod for comparison, it looks like your mod is causing ground to be transparent, although it may have also been another mod.

Let me know if you still run into any issues.

@Levi: Thanks! I'm not good at making new 3D models, so not sure what you mean by "change into clones". Changing textures I can do.
