The reason why oxygen pumping doesn't work when the lamp is disabled is because there isn't a wire hooked up to the printer pod, just hook up a single wire to make oxygen and water work again.

Also it doesnt matter if i try to make the mod "local". The game still keeps trying to update it. Is there a way to prevent this?

Also we cant modify the file manually. Apparently it breaks the mod. No more oxygen pumping if i delete the lamp on the right from the text file.

Pleaaase add options to the mod so we dont have to manually edit the file and screw up automatic updates..!! the water suply i find it rather pointless, it needs to be bumped a little bit.

So I've been testing some more and think this achievement is broken on its own.

You can test this by entering the sandbox mode, adding a manual generator and a lamp. You will notice how the report will say like 10 kJ added but the achievement will show 50 kJ.

I think the issue here is that the report uses a second as baseline while the achievement uses 200 milliseconds (that's 500% of the report).

There is nothing I can do here, since this happens even with the mod being disabled. Maybe someone else has an idea what is going on here.

Eyyy glad it wasn't just a me issue, I been kinda waiting to have time to figure this out or b. have it get fixed cause I was gonna go for super sustainable since I've never done it before and it was weird when it just popped like day 10 lmaoo

@ZakaVtuberTTV @Spontaneite: I can confirm this issue. In my new game on Day 1 the stats show that 8kJ have been added but the achievement shows 420 kJ / 240,000 kJ already. Something must have broken the calculation. I will look into it!

@Bat stealer: It means you just open the file. In Windows you would want to open the file with Editor/Notepad. This settings.yaml is just a text file and can be easily edited.

Just reporting I also got super early super sustainable via the printing pod power. Not really an issue for me as ive got that cheevo enough times legit im tired of it now, but might be good to look into? game claims it's only producing 400w but it's not even day 10 so I should not have super sustainable by a long shot.

Sorry for the late reply, I just got this notification, but ye ye I checked the settings and it was set to 400 as is supposed to be. I haven't had the time to try and test / replicate the bug with only your mod or much in general but if I find any developments when I can I'll let you know!

@Zaka Waka: Could you please check your settings file (see guide in description)? The "wattageRating" should be set to "400.0".

Maybe there is a bug in this mod that I am not aware of.

It's that time of year again to pick up Oni yippie. Although I've run into a kind of weird bug(?) with this mod. Basically the power generator in the pod is outputting an obscene amount of power. Like I got the super sustainable achievement on day 4 levels of power. I wasn't sure if it was something on the map that was doing this or not but sure enough I put down a battery next to the power and plugged it in and it instantly fully charged. I'm gonna investigate it more tonight when I can :D

Mod isn't working for me, it causes an error while generating the world related to something and an id 272? An update probably broke this.

I noticed that the Steam Workshop fails to update mods sometimes. Un- and resubscribing fixes it in my case.

For some odd reason, I'm finding it impossible to start a new game with this mod activated. Tried over a dozen seeds and every single one says it couldn't generate a world. Doesn't matter if it's a classic game or a spaced out game. Though trial and error I narrowed it down to this mod. No mods activated, can start a new game. ONLY this mod activated, can't start a new game because no map seeds will generate a world. This mod disabled and all my other mods activated, can start a new game.

I have all the DLC so maybe it's related to a DLC incompatibility?
I've used the mod without issue in the past without any DLC.

@✪ Nam Saker ✪ Thank you for finding this problem! It was just as you said: the oxygenOutputInKgPerSecond was used for both oxygen and water generation.

I found the problem. "Amount water per second" not working but when adjusting "Amount oxygen per second" to 10 kg "water value" follow it, also 10 kg

This mod loads correctly under the new DLC, but trying to start a game with it on causes the seed to fail to generate.

Honestly just musing here but this mod is the reason I feel I could just drop in and try this game again after having put the game down for a year (not the first time).

It undeniably changes the core early game from something where you have to plan and move fast to being able to relax and focus on the bare essentials (food/pollution mostly) till you're ready to push further.

I really like this mod and wish the rest of the game was more like it or that there were more quality of life / chill mode mods to balance out various systems that can be oppressive or daunting as that is the usual reason people pass on this game even after putting some hours into it. For me that part of the game is usually when temperature starts to get out of control so I make a goal and accomplish it before everything freezes or melts respectively.

Anywho great mod! Gonna start up a run with it soon and see where it goes :steamthumbsup:

Can confirm that it still works and I have some odd 200+ mods.

This is a very sweet mod since it indeed enables a very relaxed start. Quite some time ago I made superficial mods myself since scavenging for food early every time became a bother so one mod did just fill the ration box.

ONI is generally quite overwhelming for first time players (despite the Oxylite), I think, since it has that many different early game requirements / pitfalls (food, oxygen, power, temperature, hygiene, research and all while trying to build an infrastructure with only 3 dupes).

That's why I consider extending the printing pods functionality simply and utterly awesome.

Now apart from suggesting to make the Oxygen / Power configurable (personally I'd have set it to 300 O²/s to fit the initial number of duplicants and leave power unchanged), I'd like to suggest adding one special care package (Nutrient Bars, 9000 kcal, always available, does not replace, disappears after X cycles).

@Mikelof I am afraid I cannot help you fix this issue. My best guess would be reinstalling ONI on your Mac and hope this will fix it somehow.

If you have some time on your hand you might want to write to the Steam support about this Workshop issue. Maybe they have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks for the response. I originally was on a Mac, changed over to the Win 10 machine and the updated version 1.1.5 was automatically updated. So can we get it working for the Mac as that is mine and maybe other's preferred machine? It really is an awesome mod.

@Mikelof Have you restarted the game twice? Once when uninstalling (unsubscribe in Steam and the game will ask you to restart) and once when when reinstalling (subscribe in Steam, activate in game and the game will ask you to restart).

@dsung well it the same updated version both for the build and mod but it might be since im using ONY mod manager that causing it to flag as red to most likely to crash as such a had to restart my colony to do without your mod in the top. thank though for the reply though.

Great mod. Worth getting even if you don't need it. Makes realistic sense that the Printing Pod could supply some utilities.

And on a helpful note, this mod can be added to existing saves but you'll have to build the ventilation stuff.

I can't even say a number for how much peoples I talk with who tried Oni and gave up

One of them is a close friend, he was able to feed the Dups and give them enough oxygen and close to no germ, but he failed because of the temperature management, and when he asked me about it, I tried to explain him some basic stuff, but he has stop there, it was too much for him

It surprised me that he wasn't able to deal with the game, he was a Factorio player with more than 200h on it, but Oni isn't just about optimization and automation, that maybe why

When he stopped, he told me that this game gave him the feeling of going back to school and have to learn again the physics and chemistry rules, etc
I understand him because the Game gave me the same feeling when I started playing it :meephappy:

Some games aren't for everybody, but sometime we can do something to help them and make the game more friendly for them ^^

I'm sure your mod will help many players

I also like games where you have to find and learn mechanics yourself (ideally without looking up a wiki on the internet). ONI is quite punishing though, your Dupes can survive a few cycles without food but only seconds without oxygen. :steamhappy:

Story time: 2-3 years ago I gifted ONI to a friend that loved playing Don't Starve and likes base building games.

He gave up on the game entirely after his colony suffocated around cylce 15. Seeing them drop dead one after an other demotivated him from ever trying again.

Maybe he would have given ONI a chance if he had this mod enabled? Who knows. I hope someone out there had a more pleasant first game due to this mod. :-)
