does this work in b42? is there a way to make the game think it's b42? i doubt it would cause many issues

Cassette packs are basically just an item that generates other specific items randomly, on their own they serve no purpose or have any other function besides opening them.

how can i make a sealed cassette pack too?

can cassette cases be played with all the songs inside of it or is there a mod that exists for that?

@Zenith I'll keep that in mind, but you don't have to worry about that because I would always take the route with the least amount of junk data. Optimisation has always been the main goal of this mod, and has been one of my biggest gripes with most music mods that clock in at several GBs of useless bloat.

When/if you update to 42, please don't use the new versioning feature. Keeping 41 support would result in this mod being a x2 as big (since both versions are in the same workshop pack). Instead can you could make new separate mod for legacy 41.

@SirCandyMan I haven't tested it, but likely not. I'm waiting for True Music to be updated before I have a look at it.

@pickenspickett You won't find any of its loot in areas you've already visited, but you should still be able to find cassette loot on the zombies. Should be fine.

Am I able to add this mod onto an existing save? I have the extended cassette mod enabled, but i'd like to add this one in my current playthrough

when i open a cassette case, there are no cassettes added to my inventory. not sure why, could you fix this or tell me how to fix it in my own game? (also pls tag me!)

@Bobby Funnily enough in a deprecated version of this mod I used to have those, but I opted to cut them out of this one for space and lag reasons. There is a slight hitch when someone slots in a 30 minute cassette that can be annoying if you drive past a player that plays a tape like that. Instead I opted to put the long tracks into the Vinyl side of this mod, Lore Vinyls. However, those are full albums rather than a mix like you're suggesting. I might toy around with this idea again at some point, but I don't think I will put it into the main mod, this one.

i would suggest adding very rare cassettes like mixtapes, (ex: a pre 1993 drum & bass 30 min mix or something like that) this would add a nice thing to be looking for in houses

@stinky I recommend you take a look at the sub-mod for this mod, Lore Vinyls, which contains the entirety of Unknown Pleasures.

Add the 2 joy division albums, i donnt have enoough time to do it myself :( (unkown pleasures and closer)

@saelid This mod doesn't include the Moonlight Sonata, so it's likely a mistake from another music mod you have installed.

Alright, added! Made my cassette case pretty rare but allowed combing 5 lore cassette cases to make mine. Also modified the True music generation script to automate a majority of the process.

No problem at all. It's a very basic code function that is only unique in its implementation to be perfectly honest. I took inspiration from the dance mod's cereal boxes, believe it or not.

Would you be fine with me using use your sealed cassette system for my own True music addon? (With credit ofc) It's very much not a collection of lore friendly music~ More just a personal collection for the lads and we don't like a bloated spawn table ~ the gacha of the sealed cassettes is actually really fun.

We'd run Lore Cassettes + our own mod so we'd still have two different sealed cassettes but that's alright; I could make ours a different color and much rarer since it doesn't have anywhere near 500 songs.

@Guard1211 The loot system is not something I am capable of automating sadly. As it is currently, it is a recipe in which I have manually inserted all the songs of the mod inside of. It can only be applicable to other mods if other mod authors decide to use the same system. For everything else, they also are manual tweaks.

you should add an option to have just the settings without the songs? So that i can use my song mod but with your improvements

True music volume is changeable by one of the sound sliders in game options, ambiance if I recall correctly.

That and a setting to be able to turn it down in options or mute it in options.
