Why does Network Skins only let me add catenaries meant for single-track rails? It happens with several of the Railway 2 bridges... is there something I'm missing?

@REV0 -- Thanks so much for the reply. I understand. :xmasholly:

this is european bridge that's why. carousel is made after the CCP variant so i directly used american ones from the start.

base props contain rail welding joints and markings, as well as tunnel darkeners, although in this case they're not needed.

if you're playing on american only map, you can skip base props from euro pack for this one

@REV0 -- Is there a reason this network requires the "RAILWAY 2 - Base Props (European)" and not the American Base Props? I ask because this network uses the American Base Props and I don't see a regional difference between the two.

Thanks for any clarification you may provide.

Network has many features, thus they are enabled by various mods. A simple look at the video in screenshots should be enough to give you an idea. If you want a simpler network, you can use Railway1 variant made couple of years ago.

why does it need so many mods? is there a network version or similar?

Ironically by including so many options into the network with AN flags it has made it harder to customize in some aspects. I won't lie though, it's really nice to only have the one entry in the UI and find-it. I may end up just going the route of manually placing the props to get the effect I'm going for. At least until I can get my editor setup working properly again so I can fiddle with stuff in there. (2/2)

1. Thanks for the heads up on this. This explains the positioning for the single poles.
2. I will mention this to the author and ask if compatibility is an option.
3. I did switch to the portal type. My issue is that I cannot alter the portal props. Sorry for not being clear. Network skins only detects the single pole props as it only has the ability to change one catenary type per network. The prop I want to use is your PRR girder type because it looks good on elevated networks, but network skins only offers single pole style props. Thats what led me to trying to use BOB to replace the props that NS cannot alter. (1/2)

As a context, this network supports two types of catenaries, single arm and portal. That said;

1. Each R2 single catenary type comes with 'A' and 'B' variant, one being flipped 180. in order to have catenaries on other side, simply switch to type B.
2. BOB and Replacer looks like a bug, if style cannot be overwritten with BOB, like NS has been handling it, it should be reported to BOB team.
3. Another alternative is to use AN and switch catenary type to portal, so standard 2 lane wide catenaries can be triggered.

Cheers

There isn't any way to change the catenary pole type on this net specifically. Railway replacer allows you to change the prop type for all networks, but there is no way to set this one separately. Allow me to explain. Using network skins doesn't work because it only detects the single pole props, which are improperly positioned to stand in the middle of the tracks which looks bad. Using BOB to replace the poles with a different one works temporarily, but next time you load your save that gets reset to the RWY replacer default. I tried changing the load order in the hopes that having BOB load after would fix it but to no avail. And removing replacer just removes the cat props entirely. So unless there exists a pole type that looks good on all networks and elevations the only option is to disable the poles entirely and place the props by hand, which is VERY fiddly.
