I tried to understand how it really work (while playing to help me understand it, of course) for a week and can't figure it out.
Is it possible for you to give me a few minutes of your time to explain the mechanics with the default settings and the crafting skills, please ?
I will be so thankful !
I think I figured out the problem - SOTO adds some +1 dynamic traits when further into proficiency (crusher, carpenter, etc.) which i believe 'raises' the skill cap as if we had started with that extra point, so I'll be testing a -1 in the settings shortly - but if you could confirm that's the case, it would also be great lol.
For the example bonus string ID's, those are just for setting bonuses/negatives for individual skills, correct? Thank you!
Bonuses add to the tier, acting as if the user had additional initial levels equal to the bonus.
Bonuses may also be negative, if you want to balance it out like that.
The example (0, non-effective) bonus string is:
"metalwelding:0;mechanics:0;plantscavenging:0"
You can find ids over at https://projectzomboid.com/modding/zombie/characters/skills/PerkFactory.Perks.html
I hope you're doing well! I'm currently putting together a modpack for a Project Zomboid server called "Infected Chronicles," which is focused on creating a unique and immersive experience for our community through rp! (if anyone is interested reach out to me via messages). Your mod would be a perfect fit for the atmosphere we're aiming to build. I'd like to ask for your permission to include it in our modpack. Of course, full credit will be given to you, and I'll be sure to follow any guidelines you have. Thank you for considering my request!
Best regards,
Techspartan
Example
Tier 1 | 0 levels added | level 5 skill cap
Tier 2 | 2 level added | Level 7 skill cap
Tier 3 | 3 levels added | Level 9 skill cap
Tier 4 | 4 or more levels added | Level 10 skill
Also as said before, a visual feedback would be very nice.
and we love it! If you need some motivation (such as a cup of coffee), let me know!
since I hate people can able to reach level 10 of every skill.
Only two feature I wish for this mod:
- visual feedback (using red color to symbolize the skill cap in the skill panel)
- player should unable to get any experience after they hit the cap
(right now they are still able to gain experience and reach the next level even they have reached the cap,
although the skill level will bounce back due to this mod,
player will still feel discouraged if they expect the skill have been level up)
Keep up the awesome work! You are the key of bringing PZ MP to the next level!
Ah, nvm, I understand what you mean. The popup halo.
I'll add it to my future TODO!
I would like to limit the carpentry level at 10 (because it's his job) and the mechanic level at 3 for the first character. For the second character, I would like to limit the tailor level at 10 (because it's his job) and the metalworker level at 3.
And I would to do things like that for every player on my server - maximum 32 characters. Do you think something like that is possible ?
I hope my explanation is clear enough. Thanks a lot !
Could you elaborate?
@catchfree1225
I'm not entirely sure what you mean?
I explain myself : I rent a RP dedicated server and I would like to add limitations for each player related to their occupation.
Let me know your opinion on it :)
