I fixed it. You spawn with 9 ammo, but if you waste them and then reload, you will have 8

For the +1 thing there is a checkbox called 'Use Max Ammo Per Reload' in the weapon script (near the bottom),below that you can specify the amount of ammo, so for a gun with 8 rounds mags make the capacity 9 rounds and the 'Max Ammo Per Reload' 8. A reload will now load 8rounds max
