hi banana just fyi, when i added and used this in the past it seemed to work fine for me. what you can do (which is good practice in general too), is to exit the game and steam, and then make a full backup of your zomboid user folder which has your saves and config etc.

and then just in case anything goes wrong (or with a different mod you want to try too) you can always revert back to your backup. :)

I haven't played zomboid in over a year so I can't comment on whether this still works or not and don't even remember how to use it tbh. If you don't find what you're looking for in the description / comments then you're out of luck.

There might be some more recent re-makes of this mod on the workshop tho so if you find anything more recent then there's a good chance that one is a better choice than this one.

Be warned i'm getting "ERROR DoubleConfigOption.parse" in the game log to the settings ive changed mid game. Don't know what it will do or how it affects the savefile if even at all.

Does this mod still work? There is like 4 versions of this mod all saying the version before them didn't do anything for them.

@deadite i wasn't the person who originally made this mod. the original just didn't work for me because it had chinese characters in its directory structure so i refactored it to remove those charaters. i also don't play zomboid anymore so it's definitely not on my radar to make any adjustments. sorry about that.

I am once again here asking if you could please incorporate this into an options menu instead of the right-click menu lol.

The mod doesn't show up in the main menu mod list

I've got this enabled, but there's no right-click option anywhere

not sure if this is a bug, but you cant change loot respawn mid-game, the option does´nt show.

I wonder if you can add this mod, change a setting, save and then remove the mod itself because the right click menu option is a bit annoying.

@velsed Author states, "Within a single player world, if you have the mod enabled for that world, you can right click anywhere in the game and there should be a Sandbox Options option at the bottom of the context menu. Click that and it should open up the sandbox settings. From there, you can modify any of the available settings. For them to take effect, you must reload the world after hitting Apply."

Compared to the other Sandbox Options mod;
This mod doesn't use Chinese characters which can cause compatibility issues if you are playing on Linux and don't have Chinese characters installed.
(Basically it won't be able to read it properly)

Very useful. Just used it to add maggot despawning and tweak some zombie behaviour in my single player world. However, I would like to see an option to remove the right-click menu option - it seems a bit intrusive to have an option that you're (hopefully) only using once or twice per playthrough in a menu that you see all the time in normal gameplay.

Also, I think a lot of people may have added the mod to their game but not their save file, causing some of the confusion seen in the comments. Made that mistake many times myself in the past.

How do you actually use it? I don't understand, I see no option to change the settings when loading the savefile whatsoever

Doesn't appear to be changing the sandbox options in single player. I have edited the settings and applied then exited my world and re-entered and nothing has changed.

Good mod, saved my ass. After recent game update, my old sandbox got flooded with maggots. Now, they can disappear properly.

@Maoman this one is better and up-to-date.

dont know how or if it was another mod interacting with this one but it seems as though adding this mod into a recent start caused some strange shadow bugs with grass and corpses. this, as well as cascading shadows along the ground like that of a freshly cut lawn.

Why are there two? What is different about this one?

Does anyone know if this resets the zombie spawn behavior? I am playing on sandbox and have my settings so that on day 1 the zombie spawn multiplier rate is set to 0.6, but in 30 days the zombie population is at its peak. Thus, if I were to tinker with any of the settings (minus the zombie spawn rate stuff mentioned) and apply the settings, does the zombie population rate reset back to 0.6, along with all zombie amounts even if I killed many already, and I would have to wait 30 days again for the peak zombie spawn to occur? Thank you.

My apologies if this is a question you have already answered, but if I am in a single player world but had started in, say, one of the challenges so it defaulted to apocalypse can I still change the options? I am having some difficult getting the options to pop up and was wondering if this was a known issue or a problem with my other mods.

@Wired for MP worlds, you can edit the sandbox settings for that world from the main menu without any mods.

@Wired in multiplayer you have admin tools to change sandbox settings.

I think its worth knowing that you can't actually edit the settings in an existing MP save, no matter what I do in any of my .ini or client& server settings, sandbox luas etc. make an mp version plz

I broke my sandbox settings trying to get zombies to be active at both day and night,
Used this mod to apply the preset to fix it. now my power and water are back on.
Is there any way to force power and water off? in the sandbox setting it says instant shutoff for both yet even if i reload the save I still have power.

Solution to my problem was moving save file from the "survivor" folder into the "sandbox" folder.
I'm dumb. Working fine now, thank you!!
