How do you get this mod to work? 'SandboxVars.lua" does not show anything with UXPT values on the file pages. Need some help please
nekochan AL 26. apr. kl. 1:10
can you use this mod mid-game or only at starting a new one?
TheGreat101 29. dec. 2024 kl. 11:37
most of this mods functionality is vanilla now in b42, but im still missing the more detailed xp multiplier readout. Does anyone know another mod that has that functionality?

Some skills are missing the ability to change their XP rates in the Advanced tab (dependent on traits from character creation, where vanilla is set to 0.25XP with no starting trait boost). These skills are Short Blade, Tailoring, Trapping, Cooking, First Aid, Foraging, Fishing, and Farming.

This does not work for MP servers.
ImBlackMagic 5. juni 2024 kl. 21:05
TTV ghostedstep, you don't need standarized experience, there's an "XP derandomizer" included in this mode, and in the advanced options you can change a lot of stuff to your liking, be sure to enable the option for multipliers to affect passive skills, remember to also install the mod options mod, and check at the end of the sandbox settings
ghost 30. maj 2024 kl. 20:39
Does this work with standarized experience?
xapti 7. feb. 2024 kl. 17:05
Can this be used to apply exp multipliers to modded-in skills?
Twak 20. jan. 2024 kl. 21:28
Not compatible with Ultimate XP viewer
cyke 7. jan. 2024 kl. 18:22
Under the advanced tab, right under Shortblade XP Boost: 3+ Starting points all of the others below seem to compile into a single line of text and all text boxes also combine. I am using the "Change SandBox options" by 菜喵球BIBI and in that mod menu is where I'm seeing this issue.
Havanno 6. jan. 2024 kl. 16:17
Chuckleberry Finn from SRJ seems to have fixed the incompatibility :steamthumbsup:

@Sjaak Trekhaak
Hey there, I did some testing:
It seems that the disappearing skill bars are a conflict / interaction between "Skill Recovery Journal" and "Ultimate XP Tweaker". When you hover over them left of the actively gained skill (trying to read xp of an ongoing or achieved lvl) they disappear.
Our server is running ~300 other mods just fine but when I did some testing or add it on a clean server with just those two mods enabled it's happening.
Thank you for your great work and good luck solving!

Mod no longer seems to work for multiplayer servers. Given the lack of mod owner responses, one can presume it is abandoned for now. Buyers beware!

@Sjaak Trekhaak

Hey! I'm running into an issue using this on a multiplayer server that upon restart, the sandbox.vars file for the UXPT values get reset. It seems to be applying some things when the server starts, as changing the values then restarting seem to have them 'reset' so to speak.

Any insight on how to solve this would be appreciated!

Hello! My group and I have really been enjoying this mod but have run in to some issues. It is insanely helpful for a group like mine who have full time jobs and/or families who don't have the time to endlessly grind skills.

I have added this to my dedicated MP server and while it works for the most part I have run into issues getting some of the multipliers to apply.

Firstly, under the UXPT options MetalWelding modifiers don't work. No matter what I change it to in the SandboxVars.lua settings nothing changes in game.

Secondly, none of the settings under UXPT_Advanced seem to work either. I tried to change the level 0 skill multiplier for every single skill and none of them changed (all still showing as 0.25x). Is there a toggle somewhere that I am missing? Perhaps in the other .ini files which are included in the mod?
Hammerhead 26. nov. 2023 kl. 12:03
Even starting the game fresh with this mod absolutely causes crashes on the skills UI. Lost multiple hours of gameplay to this mod at this point, glad I found the culprit.
tegheff 13. nov. 2023 kl. 15:50
Whatever that XP boost is it brings the total multiplier down ALOT. It sucks cause theres no real way to change it I think. For example I want my maintenance to be a 5x and to get it anywhere near there I need to set the multiplier from the mod to 20. It seems broken.
Ben_Dover 9. nov. 2023 kl. 14:48
Hi there, I cant seem to find the "UXPT" values that need to be changed in the SandboxVars.lua file.

I've added the mod to the server, ran the server once, then quit.

I'm just opening the lua file with notepad, is that an issue? Sorry, I'm new to modding.

Thanks
Viperspider 2. nov. 2023 kl. 12:23
This mod seems to work for the most part but I can't seem to affect the Metalworking skill. Possibly because it's called "Metalwelding" in the configs? Tried changing it to Metalworking in the Sandbox ini but sadly it's still not working. Any suggestions?
TheDarkOne_HxC 21. okt. 2023 kl. 14:25
Need help locating the SandboxVars file location for my main save. I've looked in the C:\user location, SteamApps\common and SteamApps\workshop, but can't find the one file pertaining to said savegame.
Endministrator 20. okt. 2023 kl. 6:54
@Alpacalypse You have to reload the save. Go back to menu and it should work.
Alpacalypse 14. sep. 2023 kl. 7:38
Making changes to xp modifiers midgame via sandbox settings changer doesn't seem to actually change the amount of XP gained in my singleplayer world.
frugbug 15. juli 2023 kl. 20:05
My game crashes when I mouse over the XP bars on the skills menu. I added it midgame, and if you want I can give you a mod list or log
BootyClaps 25. juni 2023 kl. 9:43
Not sure if you'll see this, but I would like an option to toggle certain books from appearing in the world (perhaps in the advanced settings). I like that the mod adds books for sneaking and such, but I would like to disable the combat books specifically.

Doesn't work.
Fractyon 23. maj 2023 kl. 12:46
Fantastic mod, I love how much versatility it offers. The more in depth page for tweaking xp is just what I was looking for.

The only thing I'm having "trouble" with (and it's not the mods fault) is balancing the xp running gives to fitness, since I want to increase fitness xp (via exercise) but I don't want sprinting to just level it up by itself.

But what I think it'd be great to have is a toggle with the possibility of not seeing the xp multipliers in game in the Abilities/Skills tab when you hover over the different skills (not sure if the tab goes by that name in english, but the one in between the health and information tabs).

The mod is amazing as it is and I know developing takes time (and the mod is free after all), so if that option could be added in the future that'd be great, but even if you can't I can't thank you enough for such a great mod.

@xapti

I agree with all your points, and it has crossed my mind to come up with options to set sensible defaults values for the mod. The thing is, the mod and its countless configuration options are already very complicated as is. To be honest, I already think it's fringing on being so complicated it hurts usability, and sometimes wish I kept it simpler, so I really don't want to add even more stuff.

I think a the best approach would for someone who has a lot of experience fine tuning the mods values to fork this mod and release their own version with either the defaults set to something different, or with no options at all and the values being hardcoded.
xapti 22. apr. 2023 kl. 1:20
Regardless of dev intent, it's very inconsistent. If someone wanted a default experience, they'd probably expect Sprinting to work the same as the other skills, regardless of whether or not it is a better or dev-intended multi for skills to have.

Balance wise (which maybe isn't your concern), I think 1→1.25 is very insufficient for the investment, especially when Sprinting level currently doesn't increase run speed much (level 1 to level 10 is only 16% faster), and considering that level up cost increases significantly every level. With current Sprinting multipliers (rather than how it is with other skills) it makes the traits/professions too expensive, and makes Fast Learner OP (it's already good as-is).

Overall I think changing the mod isn't necessary, I just think that most people are ignorant about the weird Sprinting mechanic (like Aiming), and hence might want an option to make it consistent, or at least to remind them about the mechanic.
kAzAAkAs  [ophavsmand] 20. apr. 2023 kl. 9:35
@xapti

Not sure I understand. The sprinting skill is the only skill where the default XP Boost numbers seem fair to me, as they are 1.0, 1.25, 1.33, 1.66 for 0, 1, 2, 3 starting points respectively.

It's the other skills that are truly weird, like Strength and Fitness, where the XP Boost doesn't work at all, or all other skills, where its 0.25, 1.0, 1.33, 1.66.
xapti 19. apr. 2023 kl. 18:21
I know you have the option for players to manually change it, but since many don't know about it you should maybe add an easy checkbox option to fix the weird/different starting experience multipliers for the Sprinting skill

Small update released, only affecting UI presentation, no gameplay changes

Changes:
* Added Spanish translations
* Removed spammy printing into the debug console
* UI presentation now correctly takes the new XpMultiplierAffectsPassive setting into account

I haven't played this game in quite a while, so I'm not certain if I missed any gameplay changes that this mod needs updating for. If you know of any, feel free to share.
Coda 10. apr. 2023 kl. 4:06
Definitely in TOP 10 mods of all time for this game. Amazing work you did, thank you.
Triangle Man 2. apr. 2023 kl. 21:29
fitness and strength are listed at 1x even though I have a global 1.5x multiplier with "affects passive skills" enabled. Is this correct?
BBBBilly 28. mar. 2023 kl. 5:52
I hope to add sandbox settings: remove XP transparency, I hope players don't know the specific.
Bischu 25. mar. 2023 kl. 20:06
The mod multipliers get reset when I start the game so they don't work :(
Gebirgsjäger 22. mar. 2023 kl. 17:28
Is there a way to remove the mechanic xp soft cap so that you can just train your skill without a limit?
caydemlebahtiyar 26. jan. 2023 kl. 4:20
Right, okay.
kAzAAkAs  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. 2023 kl. 3:44
No, they don't add up, they multiply. 1x1=1, 1.5x1.5=2.25, 5x5=25, etc.
caydemlebahtiyar 25. jan. 2023 kl. 11:10
@Sjaak Trekhaak so even having this mod enabled
default xp multiplier is x1 + mod's multiplier x1=x2 xp multiplier?
kAzAAkAs  [ophavsmand] 25. jan. 2023 kl. 2:48
@caydemlebahtiyar
They would multiply
caydemlebahtiyar 25. jan. 2023 kl. 0:26
@Sjaak Trekhaak If i were to put the game's multiplier to 5 with the mod's one of the skill's multiplier to 3 which one would take priority or would they stack? Great work on the mod thank you.
john flick 20. jan. 2023 kl. 10:42
Big thanks @Divisionic it made the mod working an even more: I was thinking that my recent sandbox modifications were not possible mid-game but it's all set now :steamthumbsup::steamhappy:
Divisionic 17. jan. 2023 kl. 8:59
@KeanuRaves
Try looking for the map_sand.bin file and delete it, usually that fixes the problem.
john flick 17. jan. 2023 kl. 1:59
Could not get it work on mid-game mp server. Installed after the vanilla XP multiplier is reset to 1 but the all xp multiplier keep getting affected by old vanilla xp multiplier.
