Pontiac is a GM so there may be some relation to each other.

I think overall the 1960 Pontiac Catalina was most influential styling wise. The updated front end makes it slightly less like it but I was looking at that a lot when I was doing the wagon.

Interestingly, I see a lot of 1960 Chevrolet El Camino in this.
