Just wanted to let you know if you continue bug fixing that this mod doesn't function with the spiritblades burning arrow when the hunter utilizes Through Shot. It functions normally when fired from the hunter, but upon using the Mystic's Spiritblade feature Burning Arrow the Through Shot skill does not function.

hm, I was wondering if you can make a Alternate mod of this and make it so that guns don't need to be reloaded but have a bit less damage. Like I really like how the guns have the reload mechanic but until it is fixed a alternate version to just go "Gun ho" would be kind of fun.

With multiple attempts to fix this bug currently coming up short, I can at least say I've narrowed down what the cause of the isue is.

The reload mechanic is tied to attack rolls, which is why attcking with an offhand weapon like the Hurlaxe causes the gun to think it's been fired, because it *technically* has. this can be bypassed if you have another one-handed weapon you can swap to, like a sword, as doing so shouldn't trigger the pistol's reload.

I will continue looking into this, and I hope this method of at least bypassing the bug I'm having trouble fixing can at least help some of you.

:/ the bug is still there, whenever i use the hurlaxe it counts as firing the pistol, forcing me to reload before i can fire again

Ok, I kinda went away from this mod (and in fact the entire game) for a little while, but coming back now and doing some quick testing, it appears the bug where a previously loaded pistol loses its bullet when you take a swift action is gone. So I guess that was fixed in an update to the game itself? If so, lucky me, but I might be wrong. I'll try to look into it when I have more time on my hands, if the bug is still there and just somehow didn't show up when I tried to test it, be sure to inform me.

This is an incredible mod, without a doubt. However, there is one thing I want to complain about.

Specifically applying to the Pistols, whenever I Dual Wield another weapon it has a tendency to make my previously loaded Pistol forget it had a bullet, requiring me to reload the shot AFTER I've used my secondary weapon first. I have confirmed this with both the melee and ranged options for left-handed weapons. While not exactly too annoying, it does leave much to be desired in regards to perfecting Ranger builds that use firearms.

I'm sorry to bring up another bug, but I wanted to note that attacking with a secondary hand weapon (like the flame or storm transformation) seems to count as firing the flintlock for purposes of triggering the reload. Overall sweet mod though!

It might be best to redo the reload mechanic. I was thinking it would be better if shooting applied a status effect which disables the weapon in some way. Then you can consume the status effect with another action. You could even make it a few stacks of the status effect so that reloading can be done in parts.

I've been focused on other things as of late, so I can't say I've found a solution to the reloadinng bug. And honestly, I'm not sure where to even really start looking. I will look into it next time I'm not busy, though.

I've been fiddling with the effects and I find that the discus projectile looks better than the stunt fireball as it does not noticeably lob. Using lightning shoot for all sound effects makes hits and misses sound powerful as the overlapping thunder get's pretty loud. I decided not use it for block because if you manage to block a bullet it probably wasn't as strong as normal and a proper blocking sound would feel better. Removing the projectile delay would have the projectile match the sound effect as the thunder plays a little after the lightning.

I can confirm that moving (or even using another ability) will reload your gun for free. Love this mod but that's kinda game breaking.

Oh, I also just realised that while reloading is obviously supposed to take up an entire turn, (including both moving and actions), if I move first on a reload turn, it lets me shoot after moving even if I haven't actually reloaded.

Been playing with the pistols, very fire (no pun intended). However, I am still having issues regarding Throughshot, Archery, Ambush and a myriad of other hunter abilities.

Welp, the much more experienced and overall more awesome HeroOfWind really came through for me on this one. The guns now work with those pesky Hunter skills that were giving me a headache before.

this is honestly pretty cool, i hope you can eventually make it work with certain hunter abilities but even if you aren't able to 9/10 mod

The reason the gun don't currently work with certain Hunter skills - particularly Through Shot, Ambush, and Archery - is that those skills normally affect the basic attack on a weapon. In order to incorporate the reload mechanic, I had to make the guns attack using a separate ability that isn't the normal attack, and such don't work with skills that specifically use the normal attack.

My lack of knowledge and experience has forced me to choose between having the reload on the guns, or having them work with those skills. I chose the reload. However, I currently have another mod maker with a bit more experience looking at it, and they might be able to figure someting out.

TL;DR: I can't make the guns work with those skills, but *maybe* someone better than me can. Fingers crossed.

Any chance that you could make muskets effected by certain ranger skills? Like the one that lets you hit through multiple targets?

The guns are treated as crossbows and bows under a specific sub-category, the mod might conflict with mods that also add weapons to that sub-category.

Are you supposed to get the elemental guns by enchanting them like normal weapons? Because whenever I approach a spirit with a gun wielder, it doesn't seem to let me enchant the gun.

Not sure what im doing wrong, but the Guns arent even showing up for me in the game. No option to create them or buy them. I have the mod installed and activated in the game menu. Could other mods be disrupting this one?

You deleted your comment, but being able to skip the reloading entirely by just switching weapons was a genuine issue. Should be fixed now.

fun idea, appreciate that the guns included feel appropriate for the setting and aren't completely anachronistic.

currently encountering an issue where guns can only be reloaded if the character is in range of an enemy, which i hope is an easy fix to make

Yeah that's what i thought was gonna be a problem cause i knew it would be difficult to incorporate that.

Try to make ambush work but if not its okay the mod is still great.

Archery would much more difficult to get to work also considering it has the possibility to fire multiple shots when separate companions block and it ability activates with a bow.

These abilities don't work because they trigger a normal attack, the guns don't have a normal attack. The shooting and reloading mechanic is two separate abilities that don't function the same way a normal attack does. I'll look into fixing this, but I can't make any promises.

@Zyrus The guns not having descirptions is strange, I'll have to look into that. As for them being labeled as hammers, there is no way to make new categories for weapons, so I put them in a subcategory so they at least stood on their own instead of blending with the bows and crossbows.

awesome mod that looks great and seamlessly added into the system.

my only problem currently with the mod is that if used on a Hunter the abilities Archery and Ambush will not activate.

I haven't tested with other abilities but i know enemies will just walk through the Ambush like nothing was there and the weapon will not shoot and you will not fire back when Archery should activate, i tested with the loaded and unloaded gun.

if this gets fixed it will be a 10/10 mod.

Okay, It was just me loading it into an older save. Though overall, I think this mod is great, it just has a bit of aesthetic issues, with descriptions not loading and the guns being labelled "Hammer", then again, i'm not sure that if it is this or it was my mod list causing this.

This is honestly a great mod, though there are a few things I'd like, such as maybe making guns a new tab of weapons instead of just replacing two-handed hammers, idk if it was my modlist or not that caused this. And giving them descriptions, again, not sure if it was my modlist that caused this but the guns doesn't seem to have descriptions, they only have errors.
