Actually, an outfit like the Soda Cap set that just got put on the workshop would go great with this. A shame it's for Medic...

I still really WANT to like this cosmetic. It's so well-detailed, and so much effort clearly went into it... I just can't see any cosmetic sets these would work well in. Perhaps if they came in a set with multiclass apron, you could go for an ice cream man look?

Ignore the haters. This is an extremely well modeled and textured submission and I would honestly be proud to wear this in-game

Tbh I think the criticism workshoppers are getting these days is beyond stupid. Not everyone wants to wear military hats or cool suits. Some people want just funny/cute/goofy stuff, and I am glad that Valve gives such a variaty of cosmetics to please everyone. If this gets in the game, just don't wear it? Should stores quit selling funny shirts and should everyone just wear fedoras and suits? Criticize the models/textures/jiggle bones, etc, not the idea behind it. Let workshoppers make whatever the heck they want...

honestly, props to you for taking the criticism here so well, definitely earned my respect. while i do see your point about people wanting to make silly stuff from time to time, smismass 2021 has left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to what valve adds.

I'd definitely wear this out of season, seems pretty fun for a concept.

A mini cooler with some of these sprawled out would actually be a neat idea, depending on our free time coming up we’ll definitely consider trying soon! Thank you!

The modelling and texturework is downright fantastic.
Although I'm not sure about the classes and locations of the item itself.
I think this item would work a lot better if these ice creams (and their different styles) were sitting in a miniature freezer carried by the Scout or Engineer. You may have to sacrifice some ploygons to make the freezer, but I still think it'd look pretty cool (pun not intended).
I dunno, maybe that's just me.

Criticism already expected and welcomed! We’ve been doing workshop items collectively over a decade now, so we’re no strangers to it haha

On the collection for these items, we’ve received some well-spoken critique which we’re def thankful for, but we’re also allowed to make items for our own enjoyment from time to time :) Void already knows about it lookin funky just being on the chests, he just wanted to model something in-between his other strenuous work projects and knows what to correct for next time.

The workshop as a whole is free to create whatever they feel like, just as much as the voters are allowed to voice their opinion. After a certain comment threshold, it certainly feels like creative policing rather than critique. No doubt that the critique is there, but so are the slights of calling something garbage without further follow-up. That’s when it becomes muddied— what are we supposed to learn from that?

you gotta expect some criticism if you're gonna make ice cream models just to attach them to chests of the mercs. this would've been cool if you made em as replacements for the sandvich or maybe gave scout or pyro a new concept lunch item like the sandvich, but no you just made a cheap summer cosmetic

To expect nothing but full octane hits from anyone in the workshop is setting you and everyone else with that mindset up for disappointment. Sometimes people wanna make funny little popsicles in between “the big hitters” :)

Surely you have a favorite band you love, but some of their songs you def pass on. Do skip away if this stuff ain’t your jam, it would be really nice if the energy from some of these comments went into some of the other items you see on the workshop that you honestly love. They deserve some positivity too, and comments help add onto their visibility. Thanks for the feedback though!

You try to make it fit with other cosmetics in your screenshot but the thing is! It just doesn't look good. Your item is well model and textured etc, but the problem is that nobody would wear this or use this with any combo of items! Even if there was a summer style setup on something like pyro (pulling class out of ass) it would be so niche that you would only see it on a VERY few people. Due too it not fitting with alot of cosmetics and only some summer ones.

these items reminds me Ice splat mode from Angry Birds GO!
