As for "new content". The base mod just got a new faction to play. (The Olmecs)

It lets you start at the last age of the mod. Its good for those who want to focus on building their city from the get go or play a faster game. There are many other reasons why people would like to skip the earlier stages. This addon was made to allow that. And if you want the normal experience, you simply have to uncheck the addon in the mods menu in-game. Think of it as custom game settings.

so all this does is let you skip most of the tech tree?
