Hello DrPopkorne! I am planning to create a new music mod for Stellaris. I listened to your music and loved it. Do I have your permission to use the tracks for my planned mod?

Hey, unfortunately, I am having troubles with your mod. Since years I havent been able to make it work, even though i recently bought a new PC and did a fresh OS install. Unsubscribing, after emtpying all mod folders and resubscribing does not work.

Thanks to the new music manager in the new patch I think i know why. Even though all mod folders and subsequent folders are empty, because I only tried to subscribe to your mod again.
Afterwards I did another fresh install of EU 4 and deleted the folders in user\documents i saw that the music manager listed a few songs with 0:00 length, which I believe are EU 3s music, but I do not have any mod files installed.

Does anyone have an idea why I got these empty files in the music manager?

Hmm, I think that means it's not actually loading the mod's songs.txt file but the vanilla file. I'll have a look when I get back from work. I reckon it might be due to the inclusion of DLC songs, the vanilla experience takes priority if you have these enabled.

I'll try renaming my songs file and taking out the original EU4 songs, whilst still having modifiers for them... I can't see why that wouldn't work.

Hey again. Sorry for flooding you with messages like this. You did fix the no music at all problem but t's not working yet. Now it just plays the euiv songs. No idea what's wrong. Anyway thanks for your quick answers! I'll keep checking hoping that you get to solve it soon!

Hi Cohle, should be sorted. It seems like the music structure changed in August. Might need to edit a few perameters if a few songs rarely play

Now the mod is clickable, but once in the game, it won't play anything. In fact it won't even play the EU IV music after the intro theme :\

@Mutare ad Custodiam You are correct. I have EUIII and have the game installed and enjoy the music if but if they really want to listen to the original tracks from EUIII they can just load up Spotify which has the entire Paradox Interactive soundtrack catalog for listening.

AFAIK this type of modding isn't techincally allowed by PI, as the EU3 music is copyrighted it can only be used by people that own that game.

You could use the EU3 music in EU4 if you had a way to make the game take the music directly from the EU3 folder but the user would have to have that game installed as well.

Maybe that's why Steam isn't allowing this mod to be used, just a guess.

@Sir Stalin of Moscow and @Neborath, the Doge of Venice and FRodrigues, it could actually be a problem with the Steam mod manager. I had to update the mod yesterday as it wasn't working for everyone, and now looking at the file details on steam it says File Size: 0.000 MB.

I'll have to have a look tonight when I get back.. so far the game has been a bit funny with me.

When I go to enable this mod, it doesn't actually respond to me clicking to enable it. Could somone help me? I cannot seem to find a solution for this problem.

Luckily Steam is great for things like this, it's why you can see mods containing files from all sorts (Garry's mod for example). As long as the creators are fine with it they are OK to be up.. so I think I'll add reference to the producers, artists.. thanks guys

@LoK-y-Yo It would be against copyright laws if he was selling or asking for donations for this mod. Which he is not. If the mod is free and credit is given to Paradox Interactive then it is fine.

This goes against PI modding rules unless you can make it work only if people has EUIII. Also, you might be infringing copyright laws. I'm just another player, just warning you.

@sabasNL bottom line.. I'm not sure. The game picks up any aditional music in the active mod music folders that are not stored in the Europa Universalis IV\music folder so it may work.. I've never tested it.

@Wemgadge yes regular EU4 music plays too. I had to edit the modifiers for the EU4 music to stop it playing more frequently.. I might jump back and fine-finish this even more..

Do you know whether I can combine this mod with other music mods? Like, is there some kind of playlist file where I can select these songs to play in addition to others?
