I fixed it by unmounting l4d1

"mat_specular 0" never "fixed' the reflections per se - it simply hides the problem by disabling ALL specular on supported objects
Reflections are related to cubemaps. If those aren't included or aren't made properly then sure, all reflective objects will be emo any time of the year

The source engine has limits on things, having every map from dark carnival in one would take the rest of my life to compile, and several brush and entity limits would probably be reached. Aswell as the performance being abysmal.
