never give up, if this mod becomes big enough you might get a job in their dev team idk, I think that is what happened to the spinblock guy.

A change in FTD's code broke piloting for conventional ships and aircraft probably around stable v4. It should be fixed now.

This mod is one of my favorites, even on non aircraft vehicles because it is great for first person.
