Grenade replacements are always going to be hit and miss for a lot of people; the issue with making them a part of a misc like a jacket is they end up eating up tris in modelling, which we already do not have the most to utilise, given this game's age & its limitations compared to what's available nowadays.

We did try and make these a bit more flexible with the paintstyles, but at the end of the day, it's definitely up to the players whether or not they wish to use this.

These would make for a fun detail on a tropical-themed jacket cosmetic or something, but all by themselves they don't seem different enough to warrant equipping.
