How do I play these maps? Have downloaded them, checked them in the mod window but can't see them when trying to start a new game./

Ah gotcha

Ok, well it civ 4, you needed a promotion to take advantage of roads owned by other empires.

Yeah that isn't in Civ5 as far as I know, but as it stands that already happens without it being some sort of promotion or something.

But since you are dependent on roads, when at war, enemies with the "Commando" Specialization (May be confusing for civ 4) Will easily be able to travel city to city using your own roads.

@Yourcrazydolphin - That would be a good strategy for approaching things.

I guess a good spot would be between the norther and southern halfs of the map, able to have cities protected by the mountains, funnelling enemies during war, but still having cities capable of gathering resources. Use a road network for quick protection of southern cities and suppling northern cities with food.

@Minnick - Yeah the northern half is really mountain heavy, but it's a trade off for the lack of really fertile land to farm. The north has more defensive areas, where the south has more land ideal for farming/growing.
