Did you intend to have no engineers on map or no ability to purchase and deploy them?

@MrProfilen Hi, the first thing is that I will end up redoing probably 80% of the unit stats in the future. Btw I tried for the most part to base myself on real data. For example for artillry I gave it 1 range for something like 20km irl. I don't remember how I did it for example for tanks and planes and that's exactly why I want to rebalance everything a bit

G'day mate. How do you determine balance stats for modern units? I've been thinking of starting work on some modern OOBs, but I wasn't sure how to balance them and keep them in line with your OOBs.

Thanks for your reply boromir. Thanks for the screen shots. Yes I did have the mod loaded properly. I can see all the factions with the dot now. I started with choosing 1990 as the year and could see them, and changed it to 2020 and could also see them, inc .China. And i can also see them in the Map Editor now too. Not sure if the latest HOS updated helped with that or the modder also did an update. But glad have that sorted.

Have you got the Mod Ticked and did you click APPLY?
Then for date the 3 armies ,.Russia,.USA,.Ukraine should all come up without picking a date. They have a dot in front of their names and are at top of country list.
I picked 1990,1,1 as date.
They do work.

I just tried a random battle with this mod, not seeing .ukraine or .usa in the list of nations, i set the year to 2022 and also tried 2020. Cannot see them in the editor either, whereas before i could only see .Ukraine now none- and i used the year 2022 and tried 2020.

What settings did you use boromir for your random battle?

When i loaded the Official maps for this mod, there was no nations selected but i could see the units on the map and in the buy unit store.

I did notice a new army though -China ,looking forward to their equipment as well.

How can I play Modern Warfare with a random battle? The Ukraine Army seems all Ok but the enemy if I pick a random Country ,seems to have all stats as NA and it does not show a specific unit picture either and they are destroyed instantly upon attack by Ukraine units.
What year do I pick ,I picked 2020 ,2022 for example.

Is there some way I can make an edit myself so I can play Random Battle Generator using even just 1 modern army against Ww2 Army or else 2 Modern Armies?
In LockNload for example I match up fantasy battles between WW2 Army and Modern Army and get a lot of enjoyment out of it and wanted to do the same here.

Yes it's the MTU-72. The IMR-2 is a minesweeper unit yes

Sorry i didnt know what a Ponteer was. So it's the MTU-72 that you are talking about? Also is the IMR-2 for clearing mines?

They're not called ponteers, in the tanks category you can see that some of the units have a "bridge" instead of the tank main gun

Sorry i don't see an unit called Ponteer. I presume this is supposed to infantry?

1) The engineers are the ponteer units
2) The supply plane works the same as the base game

Is the Supply Plane for refueling your other planes anywhere on the map?

Are there Engineer units (or named something else) for Ukraine? that will enable us to place mines and supply depots etc

You know the after turn messages that appear to the right of the screen, often there might be one or two of them- especially if you have lost a unit. I noticed it saying "Plain was lost" is this suppose to say "Plane was lost"?

Is "Plain was lost" a typo? the after-report bubbles on the right when starting a new turn.

@Scum Hi ty :). I should check but I'm pretty sure I added victory conditions, they should be under the Objective tab. If they're not there I'll fix them today. For MP I don't really now, maybe not the best map imo

wow, what a great mod. this has potential to be better than the original game. Playing map 1, I have a couple of questions. I tried both sides, and the game does not end even if you take out all the cities and enemy units. Also, what are the victory conditions? Do you think this is a MP map (even fight?)

A hex based game like this one wouldn't work trying to represent combined arms. Games like HoI4 are better for this role. About the BTR being represented as amor I can't really do much since I can't modify the game's UI

One of the challenges about a game like Hex of Steel is that they rarely represent COMBINED ARMS Teams - IE - A real life unit isn't JUST BTR's - it includes dismounted infantry / motorized infantry.

I was really hoping this mod would do that.

Also - BTR's are represented as ARMOR when using NATO icons versus their correct designation as motorized armor.
