I even checked the sten gun itself, a gentle pull down negated all recoil there was.
Such recoil would be a problem if you were playing a console, but PC? It's fine.
Try pulling your mouse down when shooting like in old school WW2 shooters, that will help you control the recoil.
It's definetely managable
Problem is, I don't really know what the recoil should be. If I recall correctly, the setting on the recoil mod right now is default setting that come with the mod. I may try halfing it, but I feel like that would make soem guns OP again (like for example MG34, which is straight up lazer without any mods.
I also feel that if you can't handle the recoil yet, you should be using ways to do that, e. g. crouching. Basically placing your self tactically until you can handle the recoil yourself notto need that. That's at least how I see it from playing old school tactical shooters back in my day.
