Cats can power the wheel. Slaves will leave if their needs get too low unless you force them.

Excuse me, but can cats power this wheel? Also, if I put a slave on the wheel, are they tied to it or can they leave at their leisure?

This probably is the best labour-to-power mod.
Its also the only generator that requires no component or electric knowledge, which I find odd. No idea how they can generate electricity by spinning wood around wood. I know this is intentionally unrealistic but many would agree that a second version would be cool.

I'm unsure if prisoners can be put on there. Slaves can.

Is it possible to add prisoners to the wheel. also it might need a new work type rather than animal/ prisoner handleing can it be put ont he the power wheel work type?

A melee 20 int 3 pawn should be able to rotate the wheel by himself. Just like Conan did. :)

Welp. New news. In God mode world i spawned cows in and they worked. Lasted at least a minute with max needs. Perhaps dogs, cats and other animals with small needs bars exit the power mill preemptively. Not sure whats going on but dogs and cats are not worth using. Cows worked though.

No. I started a god mode world to mess with it. i had a cat which i watched its needs bar. At full needs met it would occassionally leave the power mill instantly after being put on it. When it was on it and working it only lasted 15 to 30 sec. When it leaves the powermill with needs high or max it wanders. How long does animals stay on it for you?

Idk what the deal is. At this point animals are not viable for use on the powermill. It bogs down one colonist to spend 1/3 of his time putting the animal on the powermill. Maybe its because its a non pen animal? Ive only tried a cat a husky and a fox.

Its doing it even with the bare minimum mods. Harmony core royalty ideology power mill. In that order.

The jobs are setup to be continuous and the animals should only remove themselves if they get another job of some kind. So in that lies the problem, somehow they are being either told to wander or getting a new job and instantly cancelling it.

Its a husky im in sea ice but the power mill is inside where it is warm. Its not trained and no pen needed. I have removed some animal mods like animal logic but that does nothing. Only animal mod i have left is a dog said and animal search and destroy. I will remove the latter and see what happens.

They wander around. Literally says wandering in their profile box. They have max needs so thats not it.

Welp. The animals are coming off the power mill even when they have full needs met. They stay there for about half a minute and then leave.

100 wood only for power seems a little cheap. Should cost at least one componet. Other than that i absolutely love this mod. Its got a animation and everything!

I wish to further harness the power of my enemies by not only having them naked cleaning my base with no tongues and mining the quary. No no I want them to power the sun lamps to. Endless work for them.

The power generated is based on their size and movement speed. Rats would probably not be a great idea! Unless they were giant.
