All this could use is a bit of balancing and sprite reworks to make this character actually very good as of right now it looks like you got great base work!

the jetboard could be a taunt, use it as some aerials, like down air where you knock someone down with the dash down which you can do wit hthe vehicles in jak 2-3, yet i can understand why you want the normal dive as its from jak 1, i guess just as a running animation would be nice, and yeah i understand a not needing an essay to know how jak works. and I would also hate making you do more work that you just want to do.

That side special is a good idea! Though I'm not sure each of the different guns would be super possible for me personally to do, or at least do well. I also really don't want to make Jak so complex that you have to look at the steam page to pick him up and still play well, while also putting in as many references as I can without overdoing it. I'm also partial to having the Jetboard in the moveset still though I do admit its utility is pretty bad right now. If you have any ideas on what the point of the jet board should be i.e. funny little hitbox to secure kills, added mobility, and what not. Currently I can only think of it doing a flip for an attack and just having the board move faster than Jak's normal mobility.

i think side special should be altered a bit, like make it slower, or something as i keep flying off the edge, maybe swap that spot with an alternate gun depending on what color you chose, like

yellow shoots out the drone like yellow 3 gun does, but its just a big slow hitbot

red makes a ring around you

Blue shoots out the stream of lightning

purple does... gravity

I am still working on this! I know looking at it its been quite awhile with nothing happening but I am redoing every sprite properly. I'm still by no means an artist but I am happy with the overall new look. Expect new sprites, colors, and moves balanced, some moves will be reworked or just new. I hope I can get this done sooner than later but I'd hate to shove out something I'm dissatisfied with. Anyways yeah have a good day if ya'll read this, its cool seeing other people care about these 2 as much as I do.

I actually rejoined the discord recently. I also started looking into guides for pixel art as well so I will be trying to make things pretty soon!

Definitely a character that with proper sprites would be cool to see in Rivals. So I'm going to echo Linz's suggestion. There's a whole legion of artists on the Extended Workshop Discord who might be able to help along with a lot of guides and people who can teach you how to draw proper Rivals sprites.
