To make sure I (and others) understand this one. I assume that "cold" is referring to no gun powder weapons, otherwise it would be "hot". So this becomes both melee and archery, or as stated, anything without gunpowder. An interesting way to go, as "melee weapons" would exclude archery. I like it.
