if you're still making explosion effects, have you considered a sort of blink/flinch when receiving explosion damage?

An effect like that was in a game called 'warface', basically your screen would go black for a split second when near an explosion as if flinching. I love anything that can make combine grenades feel more impactful, more often than not i can just step to the side and be out of their blast range but effects like yours really make it more immersive.
