Ship lacks thrust to go into space from planet

I will likely change the exterior some over time to make it more of an original, but things irl and other stuff have slowed it down a little lately. The end goal is new thrusters, power systems, and also a door doubling as a boarding ramp for entry.

Found one I had of the passenger space, seats though are temporary since I wanted to attempt some of my own in the future. That door goes into what will later be the comms and medical terminals, serving also as a divider space leading to the pilot area.

It will be a good while yet for that since I've hit a bit of a slowdown for attempting to make the model parts I wanted on the final design, but I do at least have a screenshot of it in a factory bay. Sorry to say that it has a lot of the similar exterior parts at this present time, but internally is completely different with a full interior space leading from the passenger area to the cockpit.

Seeing this back then helped make it possible, so thanks again for sharing this great build concept here.

Finally made one of my own squad assault gunships a while back partially based on this style with an interior cockpit and room for 6 passengers, as well as an area that would later be updated to have a comms station. Thickened the armor for the hull and added 3 more auto cannon turrets as well. Its not posted though, just locally saved. There's more I wanted to do but don't have the right model parts yet. For now its still a prototype.

Also, creating a large version of this sounds fun. I might do that.

The rocket launchers aren't a piped weapon. They are manual load like the original rocket launchers. That is why they have no conveyor setup. Also the PDS is a 'little cousin' to the UD-4L Cheyenne Dropship model used in the Alien franchise. You can find examples of it in the movie Aliens and from various affiliated comic book works. I'm currently working on a Cheyenne that can carry my APC but that is a difficult project to achieve considering the blocks available in SE.

Also, it sounds interesting, this Skunkwork server you mentioned. Is it an SE server or a Discord server?

Sevyrs- The rocket launchers are not connected but thats ok, I use modded weapons. I would love if you could do a large ship with same design.
This ship is super cool. I even changed all the thrusters into proficent or elite for skunkwork server. We do have a creative server there in case you wanna try out things.

Hey @Fiskbajs , I took a look and sure enough, some piping had not been properly made when I made some revisions previously. Thanks for pointing that out. I went ahead and fixed that and also made some more minor changes such as optimized the thrust capabilities and a few other things. Hope the changes are to your liking!

Hey @Marshan , found out what the issue was! There is a group of artificial mass blocks on the craft meant to allow it to land in artificial gravity or perhaps on a moon with low gravity so that it will sit properly. They were set on as default. I updated the BP so that they are no longer active and resolved a few other minor things I noticed. Function test shows no obvious issues now. Hope that helps.

Ah I see. Thanks for pointing those out. I'll update the design today to resolve those issues.

It works well in the atmosphere, but it can't fly into space, which I assumed it can do. There was a couple of things that the connection between the H2O generator and the tank did not work and there was no oxygen supply to the cocpit, but I easily corrected these two things. And if it is possible to give which modes I used during the construction Dik Otherwise, I like the beautiful ship very much

@Marshan sorry, are you saying it doesn't function in Atmosphere? If so, I didn't have any issues with it at the time of building it. Can you message me with your complaints so that I may address them? I'll be online in about 1 hour from now.

@Noctis Hey thanks for the feedback. I'll check that out and see if I can adjust the design so that it can perform satisfactorily.

Love the design. The only problem I have with this dropship is that it does not perform at all on the moon since the ions don't have enough to keep it from smacking the ground.

I definitely like the overall design shown here, you did a great job with the visual framework of it. Also wanted to say thanks as well for sharing the build since it helped me to better visualize what I originally wanted to do for my own combat support ship. I had some rough ideas but it was hard coming up with a concrete shape I liked.

As described in paragraph 2 in the description, this is indeed inspired by the UD-4L. I'm a huge Alien fan. I have plans for a UD-4L that can actually carry my APC but getting the scaling right has proven challenging.
