Man I would love a mod that makes the Laurelorn elves more lore accurate, they are supposed to have given up much of their pretentious elven behavior and even send ambassadors to Altdorf, I gave them another wood elf grove and the black pit yet they still hate me and are the verge of war because I signed a trade agreement with Kislev...... A faction they almost never have any dealings with lmao.....

maybe for the high elves you could do something similar to the empire, tiranoc vs ellyrion (with whichever one supported by caledor), saphery vs alarielle/everyone?
i think they have their own civil wars and so forth but just maybe not on the level of the empire

Since the update this mod breaks going to war with certain species (can't exist the war declaration screen).

I was able to test it for vassals. The war prohibited vassal did not join the war when I declared war on their master, but still remained their vassal. No crashes. If they were military allies I wonder if it would break the alliance or allow them to still maintain it.

@Kerrberos Invitations still work as usual. As for the N'kari vassal honestly I don't know.

what would happen if one faction on the list was invited to war with another faction? What if they became the vassal of N'Kari for example, and he declared war on another order faction. Would the vassal join the war or not? would it cause the game to freeze?

too bad, i was hoping those rules apply for the AI but not the Player, to prevent the Ai from doing stupid stuff but allowing me to adjust accordingly.

@Dewrill Nope, that's the mod doing its thing. Cathay's caravans and the Wood Elves of Oreon are included in the war ban. Volkmar is not allowed to mess with the Wood Elves whether you play him or not. Same goes for the caravans, you're not allowed to touch them with this. That war-declaration freeze is perfectly natural with this mod, its a war blocker.

i encountered a bug a couple of times now which i assume is related to this mod.

whiel playing Empire factions (either of them and so far only them) when i tried to declare war on a faction like catchay to rob their caravans, trying to declare war on the Woodelves next to volkmar or similar, i have the option to do som, but the AI seems to be unable to complete the "transactioN" locking me in a un-closable Wardeclaration diplomacy screen, requireing me to forceclose the game.

removing the mod mid save seems to keep that issue.

Since its the only mod affecting diplimacy that i use, its likely a issue here. could you look into that? i'd love to be able to war with whomever i want while they have to behave.

within the paradigms established in this mod, I would say that it would be more consistent with the rest of the mod to make high elves not able to declare war on each other.

@darthvaapad Sure the option to attack and declare is still there, but because of the block, the game will not go through with that declaration. It will simply freeze in the diplomacy screen and you're not able to go anywhere.

for me I can still declare war on other cathay factions (Wardens and loyalist) if I just outright attack them with an army. Don't know if this was intended or if it can even be changed just thought it was worth mentioning.

@ZeroOne Well I suppose it does, by indirect consequence. By disabling the possibility of war between them, you don't really have much to threaten them with now do you? Its basically "do what I say or I declare war on you", which this mod would then disable between the affected races. Besides, doing stuff like threatening war on your friends kinda goes against the spirit of this mod anyway.

If you're having trouble with getting your way with diplomacy though, I can recommend mods like Easier Confederations or More Reasonable Diplomacy.

is it possible your mod disables the "force" button for player (the one you use if you want to force a deal/confederation... if the balance is not in your favour)? which is a bad thing at leat for me gg

@Obsidian You raise a valid point, but here is my motivation on why I included them. The game doesn't accurately reflect the lore around the Dragon Isles, as it is inhabited by a standard Lizardmen faction instead of a feral one. It can recruit all the standard Lizardmen units and build all their standard buildings. Its led by a standard Saurus Oldblood. So the basic game representation of the isles are really unloreful to start with, or rather a CA reinterpretation of the actual lore. Thus I thought, since its a standard Lizard faction, it should be included.

But I agree with you in principle that, if it was a feral faction accurate to the lore, it would be excluded from this.

The Lizardmen of the Dragon Isles are feral though, they have no Slann and they'd happily attack any Order faction if they encountered them.
