Kostaltyn's northern blood skill overlaps with his army trait in the new patch, both grant rage to the army.

Just want to say that I just fought against an AI Kostaltyn that had these skills with a Warriors of Chaos army. Needless to say I was in for a surprise where basic Kossars and Horse Archers were able to hold their own and bloody Chaos Warriors and Chaos Knights respectively, nevermind being outright superior to basic marauders. Gonna have to to deal with him with my main army.

Pretty sure this means you did a good job with making him threatening. While he did kick my ass, that was just with a generic lord with mostly Tier 1 units. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with main army led by Valkia.

I know, but (IMO) most skill locks make sense and promote some level of specialization, or they're bonuses that don't make sense together (like the Engineer). The Patriarch's the only lord where their lock don't make any sense, can cripple their buildpath completely, and are completely inconsistent with MP restrictions.

Look for Skill Unlock mods on the workshop, they already exist.

Could you make a mod that unlocks the Ability skills for regular Patriarchs? Makes no sense you can have them all in MP but not in campaign. Even less so when you can pick a lockable upgrade for a skill you don't have, which doesn't grant the skill and locks all other upgrades.

this. i know its not Lore-friendly but its easier than to give him fire-based abilities and excuse them with items. but it woudl fit him SO WELL
