Like... let's say I'm looking for duct tape, I hit search and the dude takes a glance around and says "there's duct tape here/there/over there".
Is that it? because what I see happens is I automate some sort of long search (10+ mins) and at the end the player character says "yeah it's here in this shelf/crate/whatever"...
That or I'm doing something wrong, I'm not criticising the mod I just think I had a different idea of what was going to happen.
Thanks for fixing the problem.
Are there any other questions:
1. Tell me, is there any way to speed up the search time?
It’s just that when I want to feed a character using plates and spoons, I go to the cabinets and select “spoon” in the “Searsch Nearby” search mode, he searches for a very long time, sorts through something there, as if he is examining every item.
It is especially difficult and long, about 3-4 hours of game time is spent searching in the “Search Room” mode.
If the "Searsch Nearby" mode works in the active zone for use and moves one unit of the found item to the inventory, then I do not fully understand under what conditions the "Search Room" mode works?
2. Is it possible to slightly increase the display time of the “comment” by at least 1 second? It disappears and I don’t have time to read where the object was found.
Thanks! I will wait for the correction. I will not delete the mod.
I choose searsh nearby
I write "hours" - two options fall out
I choose any - I activate the search
Dead bodies lie nearby and watches lie in them.
Character checked corpses - says "watch not found"
In the meantime, if you do get approached by a zombie, you can simply start walking to break off the current search.
It would suck if you start searching in an area that you think is clear and then have a zombie come up behind you, say you went AFK for a moment, and had you for "LUNCH". x.x
When a room search is initiated, the code stores a map of all containers in the room. However, it doesn't scan for the item within a container's inventory until the character has completed the search time for the container; as far as I know, this should make sure the result correspond with the latest state of the container's inventory (i.e. if someone took the item out while the timer is incomplete, the character shouldn't "find" the item).
Thanks! That helps a lot! I think this is going to be my favourite mod with aoutoloot) I hope they don`t break each other, so lets see)
@MidlandKingdom - I haven't encountered this issue. Does it happen under any particular circumstances? Does your Zomboid console.txt produce errors when this occurs?
