Indeed, so long. After neglecting these mods for *years* at this point, I will have to admit that I am not going to update any of my Extended Species mods any more. However, I am not just outright abandoning them.

I can, for the first time in years, confidently say that I have returned to Stellaris, and will be sticking around for long enough to start a new modding project: Galactic Diversity

Here you will find my newest take on Species Traits, updated for 4.0, supporting biogenesis tags, and over time most of the good stuff from the old Extended Species days will be integrated as well!

This mod still works for me as of 3.11, and it's a small one but a favourite of mine. My only issue is when using Planetary Diversity, using the 'Aquatic World' which is functionally identical to the Ocean World removes the ability to use the Leviathan and Fish from the Sea traits.

Suggestion... The high gravity modifier should also be habitable by 'deep dweller' species as long as it isn't a desert.

I would also have a planetary decision for planets with high gravity or deep ravines, to fill in the deepest parts with water from an ice mining station if you have Hydrocentric unlocked. This would allow you to use your founding species more mid to late game rather than using surface based ~slaves~ species

@CTH2004 my last reply was directed at Balathustrius. Leader traits and their effects are and have always been in the description, though!

fair enough I'll do that when I have time. I just thought putting it here would be nice, as then someone can know without needing to install it first. As well as being more user friendly (good for if someone wants to check and isn't at their computer). Instead of hunting for your mod in all the subscribed ones files, just check the page. (good for advertising, letting people find out when they are away from their main computer, and making it more user-friendly to find out)

effect add_modifier = { modifier = crushing_depths_mod } will work.
You can just look up the modifier names in the files btw!

Hello there! Was wondering if there was a console command to add the Crushing Depths modifier to planets after creating a game? I tried a few things like "effect add_modifier = { modifier = crushing_depths }" as a wild guess, but to no avail. Any input appreciated.

Aquatic Worlds do not exist in Vanilla Stellaris, Ocean Paradise is just a normal Ocean World. You can try the Compatibility Patch in the Description.

Anyone else having an issue with the crushing depths origin not spawning a size 30 world like the origin description describes? For me it always seems to spawn around a size 18 planet with everything else acting normally. I am running PD with the PD patch plus a bunch of other mods so I don't know if it is another mod causing a conflict.

A request: please make Amphibian available to more worlds. Right now the Amphibian trait does not allow most of the Wet types of planets from Planetary Diversity. Which doesn't make any sense.

it is said that the crushing depths modifier spreads at galaxy creation, but not to all ocean worlds, right?
Will i be able to add that modieifer to ocean worlds nevertheless so my people could dwell there in their depths?

quick question;

is there a way for my mod to detect your mods, so it will do a feature only if Aquatics Expanded is installed. Another feature needs Necroids Expanded, ect. ect.

That way I can make one mod that can work with have just one of your mods installed, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (when you add a lithoids one).

If so, how?

No hidden mechanic, The crushing depths are added randomly throughout the game on game start. Savegame compatible, if any Deep Dwellers are in game the modifier should appear automatically, all you have to do is wait one month.

Deep Dwellers requires the Aquatic trait, or at least the Origin does. Aquatic adds +20% to Oceanworlds which afaik start at 80% so the +25% to Ocean habitability seems redundant.

I was going to make a new empire today, but for some very strange reason, the trait from your mod was selectable event if i had the butterfly portrait, is it normal?

@Warschack Aquatics was a fairly good DLC in my opinion, probably the best species pack they've put out... Sadly though, Aquatics is merely the exception, most other DLC they make nowadays always feel half-done. Paradox is always the same, unfortunately: they churn out DLC with incredible potential for the game... And completely miss the mark. Remember how espionnage was such a game-changer? Yeah, me neither, because it's completely useless despite being the main feature of Nemesis.
