does your character lower his night vision goggles when you press the on/off button? Maybe i trippin' but i saw it somewhere, just maybe.
my character doesn't do this, there is no animation, if there should be, is there any way to fix this?

I have a issue I know this is night vision thing but when I'm in the mall most areas are dark and I just figured out when I take out this mode the mall is fully bright like before. So is there a way you can keep it that way when its bright and when some spots is not so dark or make a setting for that to change the darkness in some areas.

I also noticed when I turn on the light switch the light has a radius but the radius is small. But in vanilla the whole mall is lit but with this mod the mall is dark in most areas and hard to see but I understand that's when you use the night vision I like this mod just for the goggles the night vision is cool to use in most cases but if I want the mall to be my base i cant see my base at all and I don't wan to use my night vision goggles the whole time.

For those who have the error of pressing "N" and only making the sound and not activating night vision. Press "H" to open your character panel, go to the right option until you find "ModKeyMap"
and change the "N" key to something else, and it will work

@Bomjus Go into your audio options, advanced audio options. You will see a a long line of different audio sources. Select the second tab labeled "AUTO". Within that tab, you will see the audio source labeled "nv-turnoff". You can use that slider to adjust the volume of turning off your NODS/thermal scope. I slide mine to all the way off

i know you're not supporting it anymore, but is there a way for me to turn off the weird bass boost sound when night vision goggles are turned off? it's like an earthquake to my ear drum and really uncomfortable

Can we get controller support for this? it bugs out the menu and cant press L1/R1

Added this mod late into my heavy modded world, all is working perfectly fine, had to figure out why I couldn't change [NV] Filter or [NV] Brightness, though it was the battery but nope, turns out if you have a thermal scope and NVGs it's a bit finicky to change both their settings without dropping one or the other, also got some weird sound like a breaking bone while I was playing around, thought I bricked something since the breaking bone sound always played after trying to use N to power them on.
Also, they make a bit too much noise and because of that the [NV] Auto toggle from Arsenal26 is unusable unless you're gigachad and edit the sound files yourself.

No issues at all adding this to an existing SP save. Awesome job. I did, however, have to go in and delete those on and off sounds lol. If anyone else would like to not hear the sam fisher on and bass drop off sounds you can delete them from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\2776633989\mods\NVAPI\media\sound

I am using this with Brita's weapon pack and Arsenal[26] and I don't even see a place to set this keybind in game for multiplayer. Any ideas? Someone really needs to make a tutorial if they have figured it out.

1: this mod work for brita armor pack
2: you need to install another mod to use it ( the night vision mod)
3: it work perfectly in single player
4: is 100% recommend and need to change the default letter to another letter
5: some times work in multiplayer sometimes not.
6: the effects are petty annoying but it work fine.
7: its annoying but if you want this mod to work 100% fine and with no error,bugs and that, you need to create a new world ;(

I downloaded this with Brita's weapon pack and it works in single player, the N button, but when I try and use it on multiplayer it doesn't work, any fix?

can put goggles on, turn them on and choose nvg mode and brightness. But they do not work. Nothing changes when I put them on or press N

Installed both applicable mods with Brita - Had to change the modmapkey to another key for the powerup to work correctly. Seems as if the keybind has a turn on AND turn off function. Change your keybind and they should work just fine. Mine worked just fine on a multiplayer dedicated server with 175 other mods. Should be good. :) Great work!

@Green The messages you get about " night vision control not found " may be due to keybindings not set correctly ( Just a guess )
About the second one ( nv api not found ) could be a conflicting mod or the NVG API not installed correctly ( Again just a guess )
Try also to unsubscribe/re-subscribe to the mods of interest because how Steam updates the mods it's a bit crap and often it leaves behind old files that then may provoke issues. When unisuscrtibing check that all the file of interest have been deleted completely from the 108600 folder.
In addition I strongly suggest you to read carefully the guide you can find linked in the Brita's Weapons Pack mod page..maybe it can help solving your issues.
Ps: If using SMUI mod check that is enabled before Brita/Gunfighter ( So their files will overwtite it ) and remember to remove from it the require line if you intend to use this NVG API ( Because SMUI uses another one instead that is not compatible with this one here )

where would you set a different key binding for brita? i only see set different key binding for arsenal gunfighter but not one for brita? i constantly have " night vision control not found " or " nv api not found" like what exactly does that even mean? i even set my mods to exactly how you stated below... i never had issues before with any mods until all this recently

Yep by default the Brita/Gunfighter 2.0 set the " N " key to activate the NVG on optics so if you want to continue to use the " N " key for the NVG goggles you need to set a different keybinding for the Brita/Gunfighter 2.0 NVG on optics ;)

My NVGs also wouldn't work until I rebound the NVG key to an otherwise unused key. Changing the Arsenal night vision toggle bind for weapon sights also fixed the problem.

@ll-Solid_T-l I guess it's another mod taking you the FPS....Scripts apart this API ( That is not a stand-alone mod btw ) adds only some overlays....If you instead were meaning NVG+Brita/Gunfighter 2.0 yep, on certain PCs, unfortunately, they could have an impact on FPS ( Especially the ones using integrated video cards )

This mod, took 40 FPS From my game. So i ofc have to remove it again. I cant have that.

If following what's written below still your NVGs are not working...Well done, mate!
You have reached just now the SNAFU level!
If you reached this level other possible solutions to solve the issue are ( Not in order of execution ):
- Throw your PC out of the window
- Unplug your PC from any power source for at least the next 10 years
- Stay away from your PC keyboard. Even if willing don't press any key. Never again.
- Consider that playing Tetris is not only an option anymore
- Wet the computer with generous sprinklings of holy water
- Consider bringing your PC to the Lourdes miracles's pool to have a 15 mins bath
- Scream loudly bad words toward the sky. The issue will remain but sometimes it helps.

*Additional notes If problem persist following what's written below:
- Do a file integrity check via Steam
- Once done try also to Unsubscribe/Re-subscribe to any mod present in the list below ( When you unsubscribe check first, before re-submitting, that there are no old files left behind in the folder 108600 )

For the ones having issues with the NVGs used in conjunction with Brita/Gunfighter 2.0 mod:
- Check that the Night Vision Goggles mod from the same author of this NVG API is disabled ( It's not yet updated to works with them )
- If you are using the SMUI mod too, delete the require line in the mod.info file ( Make a backup of the original file first ) because it uses a different NVG framework that is not compatible with this one

I have 200+ mods enabled and all works fine. If following these instructions the NVG goggles still don't work:

- 99.9999999% you have a conflicting mod enabled
- Someone up there in the skies hates you

the mod wasnt working. i press N and i hear the sound of NVG turn on, but i still cannot see. i quit and restart and then the whole screen is green but turning my NVG off or on does nothing, so i am stuck with a green screen now

@Sonov Belial nvm got it working. my files were fucked even after doing verify integrity. Had some stray, conflicting files. Can confirm that Brita 2.0 and night vision API work. New save is mandatory! 100% my fault. Thanks anyways!
