Not to rush, but is there any telling as to how long it should take to fully restore the scenery and assets that were lost in the recent update? And how's the progress on your end?

Finally! I was able to drive from Richmond Main Street Station all the way to Washington DC without problems. Reinstalling the route from Steam doesn't erase all the files, which seem to have caused the game crashes. You need to go to the folder where the routes are stored (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content\Routes) and erase the actual route folder (114e7088-a6a0-4dba-887c-c93af351850b). Then, reinstall it. If you created any scenarios (after the March 2025 update), save the "Scenarios" folder, inside the route folder, in another location. That way you can restore them when you reinstall the route. Any scenarios you created before the March 2025 update, won't work anyway.

OK, since the update this route has been really messed up. Every time I drive from Richmond Staples Mill Station to Washington DC Union Station, at about 67 miles from Alexandria, the game crashes. I can't tell exactly where because there were no particular landmarks, just trees left and right, and there were no track labels shown on the map in that area. I tried the run several times, experiencing the same crash to desktop every time. Unfortunately, I didn't made a back up of the old version of the route so, at least, I could play it. I had to erase all the scenarios I made because they "broke" due to the new topography. On top of that, the game crashes every time you get near Richmond Main Street Station. I really hope this gets fixed because I really enjoyed this route and I'm not the only one with this problem.

PS: I checked and I have all the required DLCs. So, I'm not missing any assets.

Since the update I've been getting "Out of Memory" errors when I get to Richmond Main Street Station. Verifying the integrity of the game files didn't help. Also, reinstalling the route didn't help as well.

I've been running this route for the first time since I don't know when. I've noticed that at one of the crossings a few miles north of Richmond, the road is floating on air and the crossing signs are missing. Ashland looks a lot different than it was prior to the update. Just north of Ashland, the bridges are missing and the tracks are floating on air.

UPDATE: The route now (mostly) works correctly again, although Richmond Main Street Station still doesn't load and trying to navigate to it results in an OOM crash.

MPWTheRailFan, no additional DLC has been added or removed since before I pushed out the update. The only major upgrade was adding in the terrain throughout the whole route and utilizing the DLC's for scenery. Aside from that, it's mostly the same things I had before the update just need to be leveled out to normal height. Maybe it can possibly be your game? I would verify game files (of course save and back up any mods you have as you will most likely lose them when you verify the game files)

Was working just fine before the most recent update (with the exception of Richmond Main Street Station), but now the entire route doesn't work at all... game crashes with an OOM fatal error. Tried deleting and resubscribing and recreating scenes, doesn't work. What am I missing?

Ok I have actually managed to find a temporary solution to the track directionality problem: mark all northbound trains as "special" or some sort of freight. If you mark them as passenger services, they'll refuse to use the correct track for some reason so just mark them as special instead.

I've been playing this route for a bit and have created a few scenarios for it but I've realized there is an issue in track directionality that juliantalley was seeming to also have trouble with. For whatever reason, the northernmost track between Franconia-Springfield and Quantico cannot be driven on by any traffic northbound or southbound. From knowing how this works irl, when VRE is running their afternoon/evening trains, all traffic south of Franconia-Springfield switches to left-hand instead of the normal right-hand traffic. It then switches back to normal south of Spotsylvania. My guess is that the developer tried to emulate this but there was some error in the process between Franconia-Springfield and Quantico. Everything else runs very smoothly it just a real problem on that particular section of track because it is essentially one usable track between those two stations.

i have all the route requirements but in certain areas im missing track texures. is there something that i missed?

v It's better to just go on Google Maps, find the location source you're looking for, copy the coordinates, and paste them into the editor to teleport there.

Don't know if you already figured it out, but just select "Route Origin" instead of any of the listed starting points or else you'll be banished to a field in an empty abyss. Might be annoying to have to possibly fly back and fourth from Washington-Richmond, but that's the only way I know of.

Additionally, I don't know if you also figured out that crashing/DLC dependency stuff you posted earlier. I don't have the Chicago route although I have all other DLC required which means your issue is likely not having NJCL. Either way, Chicago is sort of required anyways for Richmond Main Street otherwise it will be invisible and float in the air.

First, I would like to say I like this map and appreciate it. Second,, for some reason, when I try to create a line going southbound from DC to Richmond, after Franconia, my train doesn't want to travel down the southbound line. No matter if I set waypoints for the train to stay on the southbound, it want to switch over to the northbound line.

Neato. Sucks I won't get to see Williamsburg. But great that we have such a vast route as it currently stands. Maybe it'll inspire someone in the future to extend it. Thanks again for devoting your time to this route.

Acela944, slippery fingers....came across a glitch while I was doing something and it deleted itself lol. As for past Richmond, I will just do the surrounding areas of downtown Richmond and leave it at that

philliplmartinjr, the modellers asset is not used so ignore that. I'm not sure why steam generated that in there. For the US assets, it should come already if you bought the Cajon Pass, Sherman Hill, or even Horseshoe Curve routes. If not, no big deal. Very minimal assets are used

LOL How do you actually accidentally delete a route? I wouldn't know as I've never published anything in the workshop in my life so I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Anyhow great to hear about future terrain updates. I know this question is starting to be repetitive as if I remember correctly of tentative speculations about the future of this route but: What's the official conclusion beyond Richmond? I know there were discussions about making a separate route for Petersburg/Norfolk, and Newport News, but it went silent for a while. Will it ever come to fruition or at this point does it not make sense?

It says that I need Modellers Asset and US loco asset pack to play but the description does't say those. Any idea how I can play it?
